I saw this on the Project Farm YouTube channel, and immediately bought it. I've tried it a few times already and it works great. I will definitely bring this along with me on my next work trip. It was extremely easy to follow the directions and get it up and going. I highly recommend this hidden camera detector. Read more
Very easy to use with the LED lights giving clear indicators. Pcked very nicely. It has to be with in 5' to 8' as far as I can tell. As another commenter noted, the only problem would be devices that don't automatically/immediately transmit - things that store on memory cards or transmit on delay - since this has to catch the actual moments of transmission. So can be helpful and give some sense of security, but isn't going to be foolproof. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Got this detector a few weeks back cause I was concerned about privacy when staying at different places for business trips and wanted something to scan hotel rooms with. The package arrived quickly and inside was the detector, a charging cable, and a small manual that explained the basics. Charging it up took about an hour and a half, then I was ready to test it out. The device is compact and light, easy to hold in one hand while walking around a room. Theres only one or two buttons which makes it pretty straightforward to operate - you just turn it on and start moving it around to scan for signals or magnetic fields. It starts beeping and the lights flash when it detects something nearby. I tried it first in my own house to see how sensitive it was, and it went off near pretty much every electronic device I have - the microwave, TV, wifi router, phone charger, even my digital alarm clock. So it definitly picks up electromagnetic signals but thats also the problem, everything electronic sets it off. When I used it in a hotel room last week it beeped constantly near the TV, smoke detector, thermostat, and electrical outlets. Makes it really difficult to figure out if theres actually a hidden camera somewhere or if its just reacting to normal room electronics. I walked slowly around the whole room trying different areas and the beeping was almost nonstop in some spots. The magnetic detection mode seemed to work when I tested it with my car keys and some metal objects, so that part functions as described. Battery life has been solid, used it multiple times over two weeks and only had to recharge once so far. The rechargable battery is convenient compared to devices that need replaceable batteries. One thing thats frustrating is there’s no way to identify what type of device its detecting - it just alerts you that something is there but doesnt tell you if its a camera, tracker, or just your laptop. The sensitivity cant be adjusted much either, so your stuck with lots of false alarms from everyday stuff. I havent found any actual hidden devices yet so I cant confirm if it would catch a real spy camera, but given how much it reacts to normal electronics I’m not totally confident I’d be able to distinguish a real threat. The instruction manual is pretty vague and doesn’t give much guidance on how to do a proper sweep or what to look for. Build quality seems okay for the price, its mostly plastic but feels sturdy enough for regular use. The LED indicators are bright and easy to see even in daylight. For someone whos worried about privacy and wants a basic tool to check their surroundings this might give you some peace of mind, but dont expect it to be super accurate or easy to interpret the results. Theres definitely a learning curve to figuring out whats normal background noise versus something suspicious, and honestly im still not sure I can tell the differance reliably. Read more
This bug camera finder and detector works well for searching for eavesdropping device, maliciously installed tracker, and hidden cameras. It’s a multifunctional tool for protecting my privacy, whether I am traveling or just staying in hotel. It use magnetic and signal detection to accurately and quickly detect hidden GPS devices, camera and other harmful devices. It catch the light reflection from the camera lens and infrared the lights in the back of the camera finder will light up the camera lens and a special red tinted view finder will easily find the reflection from the camera lens. I can see it the red light spot easily when I am facing the straight line of the camera. This device is light weighted and portable, and wireless. It let me carry it and scan any area that I wanted. This has detected everything I know to be transmitting. It has to be with in 5' to 8' to detect ALL things I have used to test on. Take note, there are cameras that do not send photos/videos immediately, and there fore may require a "trip" moment, setting off the camera and only during transmission will you detect a signal. I played in the woods with my trail cam that send pic/vid to my phone. I could walk up behind the camera with no detection. Walk past, it got me, then I detected. I also had to point the wand in the almost exact direction of the camera during transmition to catch the signal. If I walked up from behind, didnt the camera was there and triggered the camera at my back after walking by, Id have no clue it was ever there. In an environment like that I would have to walk like a top in slow motion spinning around to catch all possibilities. Also note that if a camera that only record on say an sd card that someone can retrieve later, or a hardwired system, one can still be watching......or just hiding under the bed......... Read more
