UPDATE: October 2025. The unit performance was like our previous one until this month. Somehow the tank got a small Crack that leaked slowly onto the table. I have no idea how the Crack developed because it just sat on a table in the living room. There are no children to cause it to fall, etc. This is the one time I wish I had purchased the extended warranty. I'll probably just purchase another because it had been working properly and I can't find another unit with the large tank for less then $100. I'll still look around a bit before buying. I purchased one of these approximately 3 years ago at a box store. It has been on 24/7 until just recently. We use it during the summer because of the AC and winter dries out the air with heat. No static charge ! I paid over $100 then with no regrets. This is as close to the original that I could find. Same manufacturer, LARGE holding tank and great controls to set and forget. The large tank is a game changer. No refilling every hour and it's easier to refill with the large opening. Just don't forget to add the little bullets that help with minerals in the water. I bought three of these, this one started leaking and destroyed the piece of furniture it was sitting on. I verified everything was assembled properly and cleaned properly. This unit was full of water and was fine for days but then just failed for no obvious reason and leaked out all of its water overnight. If you buy one I suggest setting it in the bathtub or shower!! My wife had endoscopic sinus surgery. We set this up near her bed and she said it made a huge difference in terms of comfort especially during the first week. Highly recommend humidified air for this. Nice machine easy to use. Can last 24 hours depending on how it is set. For those who require total darkness for sleep, the control display is a little bright, but we just turned the machine around and it was fine for us. No white dust. We had a different brand that was also very noisy before this and it also produced a lot of white dust. Of course, it didn't have the mineral removing cartridges like this one. Produces a lot of humidity and almost doubles the discharge with the warm mist. Cleaning reminder with the ability to reset it if your weekend happens to be packed is a great feature. No mold buildup even after a few months of use with regular cleaning that takes about 5 minutes a week. Read more

purchased this May 2024, has lasted 9 mo . I clean every wk, with white vinegar & distilled water, & only use distilled water in it. it is quite, the mister setting must have gotten pushed, it will not move up or down, and setting # 3 is too much mist for me by my bed. have tried to call 800 cust serevice , no answer, I have left a email this eve. will see on that. the booklet does not address this problem.
