This is a great deal for anyone who wants to change light colors but doesn't want to buy new light strings. A box of 25 multicolor globe style (G40) bulbs with candelabra (E12) base costs just under $20. Your get 5 each of the red, blue, green, orange, and pink bulbs. They come safely nested in a foam insert inside the cardboard box, which would be ideal to use as storage when the bulbs are not installed in a string. These bulbs create a soft jewel like glow when they are lit and, because the bulbs are pearlescent, they look like little Christmas tree ornaments when they are not lit. The bulbs are 5 watts, so they don't get hot when they are on and because they are rated for 130 volts, they should have a long life when run on 120 volts. They have standard (incandescent) filaments, so they can be used with a dimmer if you wanted an even softer glow for a dark room - or for viewing at night with your room lights turned off. We bought several sets of outdoor cafe lights from Home Depot to use in our back yard. When it came time to replace blown bulbs, Home Depot was only carrying LED as replacement and from what we could see, not an exact fit. Very disappointing. We were super happy to find these. I got these white fairy light bulbs to change up the look of my patio lights. I keep them up year-round and change the colors for holidays or special occasion. I wanted something different than the typical white bulb and these are perfect. They are a warm white and put off a nice glow without being too bright. They added great ambiance for when the snow started falling in the evening. They were a little pricier than just the plain white/colored bulbs but well worth it if you like this look. Read more

After emailing the company directly, I was informed that I might be using the wrong voltage for these replacement bulbs. When I try a different string, regular 120 V, the bulbs did work! they seem to be a simple replacement for the original bulbs i purchased. unfortunately, the LED white fairy bulbs are not dimmable. i think the normal bulbs are. they burn a lot cooler than the originals. Read more
