Sunshine on a Rainy Day—October 31, 2025
This chair might be a little pricey, but it's oh so worth it! This is the most comfortable desk chair I've ever experienced. Great back support. I love that it swivels and rocks a little for my restless self. Easy to assemble. Easy to adjust. Feels strong and sturdy. Read more

The elevation adjustment cylinder of my 35 year old Steelcase Office Chair developed a slow leak requiring raising the seat every couple of days. My wife asked what I wanted for Christmas... Well, the answer was obvious! Did some research and discovered the HON Ignition 2.0 Office Chair which has great reviews. Arrived on time, minimal assembly and WOW! It is a solid and comfortable Office Chair! Arm Rest adjustment takes a little getting use to, however a Great value for the price! Let's see if it last as long as my old one... Read more

For context - I am 6'4" and 230 lbs and been using the chair almost daily for 6 months now. I bought a few chairs and researched a lot before landing on this chair. Overall, I am a fan of this chair and it checked all the boxes for me for a sub $500 chair. It will not compete against the $800++ chairs that are more for corporate wear and tear. Assembly: Straight forward and easy. No issues with any alignment or things not fitting. I had it assembled in under 30 mins. Comfort: The chair is comfortable ONCE you break it in. I found the chair a bit uncomfortable the first few weeks and almost returned it but kept it as I felt it would break in. After that, this chair has been comfortable with me using it 6++ hours a day. No issues with handling my weight. Ergonomics: The height and lumbar support works well. No issues but my one challenge is that the arm rests need to a little lower. I have longer arms and my arms/elbows sometimes rest on the arm rests and they are not padded well enough for that. It can cause pain so I have learned to adapt/adjust to that. I wish they could be lowered a bit more so my elbows did not hit them. Overall, I strongly recommend this char and over 6 months - I have had no issues with quality, comfort or challenges. Happy with the purchase. Buy with confidence! Read more

I got it assembled in maybe 10 minutes. I followed the assembly video and it was perfect. Many comments said the paper instructions were bad, so I didn’t even look at them. A couple reviews said you need to buy wheels with this chair, which confused me a bit but it does come with wheels. I like how easy the chair is to adjust. For reference I’m 6’3” and slender. The lumbar support at the highest setting is perfect. The armrests can be easily adjusted as well, width and height. I find the narrowest setting fits most naturally, but they can go pretty wide as well. It has many different options for armrest height, so it was easy to fine tune. After adjusting to fit me, this chair is comfortable and supportive. It feels sturdy, but I cannot yet speak to its durability. Each piece of the chair seems solid and they lock together in simple ways without any apparent weak points. I hope to get a few good years out of it, and more would be great. Over 1 year later: still going strong. With college and a remote work, I have spent many hours sitting in this chair. You can't tell from looking at it and it's still sturdy and supportive. Read more

The HON ignition chair is supposed to be a luxury chair at an affordable price point. However it fails on both fronts as it is neither luxurious or cheap. Here are the shortcomings that I noticed: 1. Quality - The chair I got had frayed and loose threads. The seat cover is stapled to some cardboard under the seat in a sloppy manner. 2. Assembly - The manual they share with the chair is outdated. It is from some outdated model or different chair so the steps or parts don't match. I could only get 3/5 castor wheels to fit properly. 3. Ergonomics - The back support relies on putting excessive pressure to bend slightly. If you want a brick wall for your back, looking to tie someone up for interrogation or are simply looking for a chair to perform an exorcism in, this is the perfect chair for you. 4. Comfort - I had the chair for two weeks at home. During that time I preferred to sit on a plastic stool and did all my office work on it. It was way more comfortable. 5. Disassembly - I decided to return the chair. I couldn't find any official manual for disassembly. The disassembly instruction link on their website is a dummy manual for some other chair. 6. Cost - The chair isn't cheap as I can buy better chairs for lower price. If you're looking for a luxury chair, do yourself a favor and spend a little more for an actual luxury chair. If price is a limitation then again do yourself a favor and purchase a cheaper chair for better comfort. Read more

Just an FYI... I have been in a Hon for years! Started with my first Hon in 2002.... Ergonomically they are the best... don't be fooled with the fake leather ultra padded chairs. It's all about the ergonomics/back and butt support. I am a big guy so the 300lb weight capacity is a plus. You can buy cheaper chairs that look similar, but don't. I sit in this chair several hours a day and my butt never hurts. I always feel the back support. Again 5 years of solid regular use and this chair has no wear and tare. :) Read more

Overall this is a good chair, not a good value. The pros: What sets it apart from other chairs is one unique feature: the seat slides forward allowing your back to be supported. The cushion is firm. The arms adjust vertically. Overall, comfortable. The cons: this chair is small ! The cushion is narrow. When I unpacked it, I was surprised. It’s 10% smaller than your average office chair. I have a medium frame so I fit ok, like in a small sports car. This is a good chair for a teenager. If you are over 5’ 9” or have a medium+ frame, buy the big and tall version. Value: from a value perspective , this is not a $400 chair. There is nothing I could see in its construction that was better than my old $150 Costco chair, which had more adjustments than this one. And the wheels are inexcusably cheap. I replaced them with aftermarket rollers. This chair would be worth it at $250. Read more
