This is a really comfortable, stylish, well-made chair. I would have kept it if the seat bed wasn't too deep. The seat cushion was comfortable. The back is curved forward on the sides, kind of hugging the back slightly. This is not as good for lumbar support but would be comfortable for younger people without low back pain. The fabric is excellent quality and the seat cushion is ample. It was also easy to assemble. For disassembling I had to buy a special tool- Thankfully that can be bought on Amazon. I don't think the chair can be beat at this price point . Read more

This is an excellent, professional, workplace quality chair! You can't go wrong with HON! It arrived three days ahead of my scheduled delivery date. The box is the original factory box and was sturdy and in very good condition. It was easy to carry into the house and unpack. All parts were present and included an Allen wrench (to add to your home collection!). The chair was very easy to assemble – I was able to do so by myself. You will need to attach the back to the seat with the four screws provided. You will then attach the wheels – they easily snap in to the bottom. Next you will put the wheel part and lift mechanism into the bottom of the chair and you’re done. The instructions are photos that are easy to follow. The seat is well padded and comfortable, and it is a wide seat. The back is also comfortable and gives good support. The seat has a tension knob to adjust the “lean” of the back, with a lever to lock in place. The lever also allows you to adjust the height of the seat and both the highest and lowest heights should accommodate most desks. The not so great . . . I am 5’4” and front to back the seat was too long for me. When I sit all the way toward the back, the edge of the seat hits right below my knees. You could put a pillow behind your back, but for me, that defeats the purpose. So, with regrets I am returning the chair. What you really need to know . . . If you go ahead and purchase this chair, after you attach the back to the bottom – stop and put the chair on a surface so you can sit on the seat to see if it will be suitable for you. I put the entire chair together before testing the seat, and herein lies the problem. There are no disassembly instructions so I had to consult YouTube, and then it’s almost impossible to get the chair apart and all the parts back in the box. Also – although there were no shipping charges . . . you will be charged for return shipping. And you need to get the box to the UPS Store. Read more

Update 11/6/20 Just received the third one of these we have bought, and still using the two previous ones. Remain very impressed with the quality and ease of assembly and how well packaged they are. I highly recommend this model (5701). This is the chair to have if you are a larger/bigger person. The seat is ample for larger people and the height range is good for those with longer legs. The chair is sturdily built and provides good back support. The seat is 19" wide x 20" deep, and the back is 18" wide x 16" high. Padding is very comfortable. Assembly was very easy using the included tools, and all parts were well wrapped and packed. The instructions are easy to follow. The black material is nice, and easy to keep clean. The raising/lowering mechanism is smooth and works well. The wheels roll very smoothly. Even though the base is plastic, it's very substantial and looks like it will be quite durable. We have had many office/computer chairs over the years, and this is by far the best one yet, and at a very reasonable price. Shop around, you can get it at the lower end of the price range with free shipping. --- Update 8 months later: The chair is still holding up very well after very heavy use, nothing loose or wobbly, material is still good and strong, wheels are fine, raise/lower function still like new. ....And after a Year and 8 months of daily use on a hardwood floor, one of the casters broke. Luckily, I had an extra one on hand that fit that I had salvaged off an older chair. The casters could be a little beefier. Read more

First and foremost, this chair is great. It's comfortable and supportive. This is my second HON chair. They are good quality and value. The foam padding exceeded my expectations. It is way more supportive than my other HON chair, which has a mesh seat, not fabric/foam. The height is perfect for my standing desk (when I need to sit). I don't have any trouble with the foot ring as other reviews mention, but that may because I have the ring as low as possible, resting on the wheel base. But, there are a couple issues that prevented me from giving 5 stars. For one, the bullet points on this listing clearly state this chair is made in USA. The box I received very clearly says "made in China." The details section describes adjustable tilt and synchro tilt features. The chair I received has no such option. The description appears to be a generic copy/paste of all available options for the Volt line, not the exact model listed. Lastly, this chair may be a little too high for a regular desk height (or a convertible desk in sitting position). I figured the height adjustment would allow for both, but it's pretty tight. At it's lowest, the seat surface is 24in/60cm off the floor. My HON Prominent standard desk chair is 23in/58cm at it's highest. So, there is zero overlap and a 1" gap between the chair and stool models. The highest position puts the seat over 34in/86cm off the floor, which is too high for most standing desks. If you're looking for a chair that can convert between a typical desk and a standing desk height, this may not work for you. Also, buy the optional arms and the rollerblade wheels in the suggested items. HUGE difference and worth every penny. Read more
