Wow! We have a 2-story house with a dual zoned HVAC system (2 thermostats to control upstairs and downstairs independently through adjustable dampers with only 1 air conditioner). We have had major problems with consistent air temps in the upstairs since we moved in. The 2 bedrooms in the front face the sun all day and have lots of large windows. Those rooms get HOT when it's sunny outside. The 2 bedrooms in the back are comfortable or even cool. The thermostat is located in the hallway right beside the stairwell, where all the hot air from downstairs rises. To make matters worse, it's feet away from the laundry room. We tried everything...spent $1000 to get the windows tinted in the front bedrooms, bought black-out curtains, had the air people come out and adjust our dampers multiple times and install some sort of blower for the room at the end of the run. Finally, we bought this thermostat with 4 sensors, 1 to go in each bedroom. We had our air people install it since we're still within our 1 year warranty, and they did it for free. This setup is amazing! We have it take the average of all the rooms, and now we get a very consistent temperature, even in the hallway. We stuck the sensors on the walls using medium command strips (the ones that are like Velcro), so it will be easy to pull off and change batteries when we need to. The thermostat is great because you can set a range of temperatures (minimum of 2 degrees apart), and it will automatically change from heat to air conditioner. Right now it's nearing spring, so it gets warm enough for the air conditioner during the day but cool enough for heat at night. I used to get up cold in the middle of the night and turn the heat on. Now, I set it for a range of 69-71. The air conditioner cools it if it gets above 71, but when it gets cooler at night and drops below 69, the heat kicks on. So amazing!!! Also, our HVAC guy recommended we buy the thermostat used. He said you'll be able to tell if it works or not instantly when you connect it, and Amazon's return policy is excellent, so it's worth the chance. We bought one in good condition on Amazon for $100 less than a brand new one, and the battery tab hadn't even been pulled out. Saved us a lot of money and hadn't ever been installed before! Read more

Love this unit. Quick delivery, reasonable price. We did have to hire someone to hook it up though. The cost was $180. It's a nice unit. Not complicated to work with. Read more

Brand new thermostats, will pair fine with the THM5421R1021 EMI board but then it will loose its settings and unpair from the EMI board. Have to be reconfigured all over again. Not sure if I got lemons. I am getting two new thermostats replacement and hope they will work. UPDATE: I upgraded this review to a 5 stars. I got two replacement the next day and they worked perfect after connecting with the THM5421R1021 EMI board and programing them. Power cycled the board and the thermostats battery unplugged and it does retain the settings and the redlink connectivity. So it looks like I had a bad batch in the first shipment which is very strange, not one but both of them. Read more

Itβs a scam about warranty! Be aware of it! The product has 5 year warranty. It mentioned that 5 year warranty voided if installed by homeowner. Our thermostat was installed by professional and lasted only two years! The thermostat stopped reading temperature correctly( confirmed by a professional). I called customer service and they want pictures etc, it has to go through multiple steps in order to be βapproved β for warranty. We just changed a thermostat in order to have a heat and the correct temperature in winter time. Read more

I purchased this thermostat to replace a previous generation of this model. This thermostat is a huge improvement over the last version, and also had a very important feature that I needed, the ability to connect wireless zone sensors. Installation was super easy, the touch screen is very accurate and very easy to read, and configuration of the not included zone sensor was very easy! This is an excellent thermostat and I will definitely purchase more if and when I need to replace the other two I have. Read more
