The glass versions of these are amazing at heat transfer verses their plastic counterparts. I noticed that the glass versions with room temperature liquid over the span of an hour, transferred so much heat out of the liquid that the ginger ale in the glass had the upper most third turn into a slushy. I also did a side by side test with the glass and plastic versions using room temperature water, after 25 minutes the gel in the glass version had largely melted where the plastic models gel was still solid. Temperature of the two at the 25 minute mark was: Glass: 33.6 F Plastic: 36.9 F Over all the borosilicate glass version of these look to be very sturdy, have a good hand feel and transfer heat rapidly for a fast greater cooling effect. Like the freezing, keeps beer cold, but careful, fragile. Broke one 2nd day. Was thawed and had glass sitting on counter. Bumped it over and it shattered on the formica countertop. My fault, but plastic seemed much more fragile than other plastic insulated cups/glasses I have used. Read more
