I have shopped for smaller size spin scrubbers like this, and even used one of them. And I have noticed that they either run at a slightly higher rpm, or a much higher rpm than this HOTO spin scrubber. Which is about 180 on it's lower setting and about 260 on it's higher setting. However, the mini spin scrubbers that run at a higher rpm are always going to be much louder. And that's the main reason this one isn't that loud. HOTO says that it's noise level is less than 59 dB, and that's about what I got when I measured the sound level on the lower speed. As far as the higher speed goes, it actually wasn't much louder than that at all, as I found that it was around 65 dB or so. HOTO's other two (more heavy duty) spin scrubbers, are also much quieter than most other spin scrubbers out there. And this is because they have realized that torque will clean things much more effectively than speed. Think about it. When you're trying to scrub something by hand that just doesn't want to come up, you usually wind up having to put some force behind your scrubbing in order to get it up, right? Well, with most of the other electric spin scrubbers that run at a higher rpm and that are much louder than this one? When you go to apply some force to them, it doesn't take much at all before they just completely stop spinning. But that's not the case with this little electric spin scrubber. It lets you actually put a little power behind it's scrubbing. And THAT, is what I like the most about it. I also really like how easily the heads can be switched since they are held on magnetically. And that it can scrub things underwater, up to 3 feet deep, for close to 30 minutes. Then there's the cool hidden hook that can be used to hang it up, OR that it can be set down on it's flat base and stay standing. Hold on, there is one more thing. I also like that it's run time on the low speed setting is about 210 minutes (3½ hours). Not to mention, that it's run time on the high speed setting is... Oh, that's right. That's one of the things that I don't like. But only because that information isn't detailed ANYWHERE! But anyway, another thing that I don't like so much, is that it takes about 3 hours to charge the battery at it's maximum charging rate of 5V-1a, which is only 5 watts. But that's not that big of a deal I suppose. And so, despite those two downsides, I would still highly recommend HOTO's little electric spin scrubber to anyone who is considering getting it. This is a pretty good mini scrub brush. I like to use it on my kitchen sink to get in the small corners, works good and getting stuck on food debris removed. It's got a good variety of heads to use for multiple cleaning purposes. This is small so it's not ideal for showers or large surface areas, but great for small cleaning jobs. This is a little savage. I use it in my nano tanks and regular aquariums to clean tough to get at spots. Good run time on one charge and multiple heads. No scratches on the glass, however I wouldn't recommend this for acrylic. Great little tool in t he arsenal. Read more
