Needed a folding rack that I could hang clothes on to dry. This folding rack did the trick. I love that I can fold it up to save space inconvenient to use. It’s very stable and durable and holds quite a lot of items. Read more
I air dry my laundry loads in my apartment, and was tired of hanging my items on hangers across the doorway, then having to duck under and around them, until those clothes were finally dry enough to put away (and OUT of the way!). So, I ordered this, and it has helped ALOT because EVERYTHING that I used to hang above my door in now on THIS! It was easy to assemble, for me. Attractive looking. Folds up compactly. Very lightweight, to carry and set up, when needed. It has held all the tops and pants I hang on it with no problem. It doesn't sit on the floor with all 4 corners down though (only 3 of them), so it looks, and feels, just a bit wobbly. However, that doesn't affect it badly enough to cause any real issue (it doesn't topple over from that, or anything drastic!). Also, since the top and bottom corners of it all have somewhat pointed shaped, plastic tips, and I use it on carpet, the bottom 4 of those tips kind of 'stick into' the nap of the carpet just a bit, helping to stabilize the slight wobbly look/feel better than if it were on a tile or linoleum floor. It's is attractive, too! Read more
So glad I ordered this handy-dandy clothes rack! I've been looking for something that I could easily put away when not in use and set up quickly when I do need it: this is the answer. First of all, it was really easy to put together, and is lightweight but sturdy (make sure you snap down the little side struts securely). It can hold a surprising number of hangers. Sometimes I need some more clothes hanging space for guests, sometimes for a quick dry outside (and yeah, our HOA doesn't allow permanent, visible clotheslines, but this is okay). Also really handy for planning travels, when you need to pull out the clothes you're considering. And then when I'm done, I just fold it together and slip it into a skinny spot in the garage. Highly recommend. Read more
2025 update: the new rack I bought in 2020 after this original was lost during a move is not at all the same. I no longer recall the manufacturer of the newer one, but it is flimsy, out of whack, collapses easily. Rather than delete my original review, I wanted to update it with this warning. Pay close attention to the manufacturers who are recommended! Add me to the chorus--this really is the best garment rack in its price range. I've tried others over the years, with predictable results--they lean, they skew, they topple, they snag, they leave stains... Not this one. It assembles quickly and it's about as sturdy as you could ask for as long as you put it on level ground and don't overload one end with heavy wet clothes. Another plus for me, perhaps minor, was that the unit's pieces were completely smooth, clean, and odorless. I had a rag and a file ready to clean it and sand down any rough spots, but didn't have to do a thing. To me this is further proof of care and quality. I'll be looking for other products made by Whitney Design. Read more
This is my second time purchasing. I gave mine with my parents when I moved to a house with a clothesline. Turns out it I can save a lot of money on the electric bill during the winter hanging my shirts and sweatshirts to dry. Also keeps them nicer longer! I bought a smaller one styled like this, but it’s not sturdy and tends to tip over even indoors if not loaded evenly on both sides. . This one is solid and larger with more space. Very easy to put together. No tools required. Read more
This rack is a good deal for the price. It folds up easily and tucks away, which is what I wanted. I use it as a drying rack for hanging clothes, and I've hung 7-8 shirts and an equal number of pairs of pants on a weekly basis and it has held up. I don't know how it would do for unusually heavy items or as a regular clothing rack, but it's perfect for occasional use, especially if you're short on space and need it to fold away. Read more
Wow. This is exceptional. I never dreamed I could replace my broken one - that I’ve had for nearly 30 years in this style (actually have two - one didn’t break yet). I use them all the time to hang laundry (rarely use a dryer), and also to hang overflow clothes (small closet). Not only did I find the same style, which is totally shocking after all these years, it is truly quality made. Strong. Put it together in a couple minutes. And another great thing is that it is about 3 inches taller than my old ones, which means longer dresses or pants don’t touch the floor. Most of the ones I could find in this X style to buy were not this tall - in fact they were only about half the height. That was not going to work for my use. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and plan to buy a second. Read more
This was very easy to assemble but far more cheap in person than the photos make it look. The construction of the metal is not as thick or sturdy as I had expected from pics. I am rather disappointed and find it a bit flimsy and doesn't look like it will handle holding much. Definitely some blouses or t-shirts but not weighted fabrics like jackets. If you put it on carpet I think it would be much more stable than on hard wood floors as a suggestion. I am keeping it because I need something to use for now and I like the design but I don't think it's worth $40 at all and wouldn't pay that price for it. I am glad I got it on discount for $25 but really I am left feeling I still overpaid for it. Read more
