Originally I purchased for myself but my son ended up having so much fun riding it I told him he could keep it, it goes way to fast for me lol. I love the folding bar for better mobility and battery life is quite Amazing! It's so much fun to ride and the light up deck makes it more fun! The quality is outstanding and has a bell and headlight which is a huge safety plus in any parents book! Read more

So I’ve been putting this review off for sometime for two main reasons, first the customer services are a complete disgrace if you can get in touch with someone they don’t do anything to help you and second because I couldn’t find the listing for it until just now. I purchased this item only for it to work for a little over a month then, while riding the thing the battery and all connected systems failed I lost control and then ended up getting hit by a car because it jerked me into the road before completely losing power. As soon as I came to found the scooter almost completely physically unharmed minus the handle break literally snapping off. I tired to turn the unit back on and it flashed a bunch of red error codes and never turned on again. When connected to the charger there is no lights nothing. This all happened even after I spent two weeks changing the tires twice because both the front and back ones popped on my second and 5 freaking rides on the thing. I changed the tires to solid ones and had no issues up until the night in question. And for those that read this and think it was the car or something stupid that caused the issue it was not in fact. The scooter screen unit itself started flashing before I was FORCED into the road. I could not stop it. Genuinely the most terrifying moment in my life. Do not buy this unit. Is it cheep because it isn’t safe. PERIOD Read more

This is not my first electric scooter, we actually own two others. However this Hover 1 Jive Electric Folding Scooter is the least expensive of the 3, and by a good bit considering the most expensive one is just under $1000. That being said I wasn’t really expecting much out of this scooter, but I thought it would be a good size for my 12 year old. This is actually surprisingly nice considering the price point! It’s definitely at the low end of the commuter type scooter range, but it works quite well. Especially if you don’t need to go to far and you don’t have a lot of hills. If either of these things apply to you I would suggest getting one that has more power and mileage. But if you just need something for a few miles, or even recreationally, then this is a good choice! The ride isn’t as smooth as my other two, but the tires are slightly smaller so that’s expected. Both the break and the throttle work very well, the brakes stop fairly quickly without any awkward lurches. And as far as power and throttle goes, even carrying me at 250 pounds it easily picks up speed and maintains it. One thing with mentioning is that the rainbow like effect they portray in a few of the photos is completely misleading. You can only choose between 4 solid colors and it will always default back to red when first turning it on. Also worth mentioning while this does have a headlight and tail light/brake light, the headlight is not very bright. So if your going to be using this at dusk or night I highly suggest not only getting a stronger headlight but also adding lots of reflecting tape so that you are well seen. Overall though it’s actually surprisingly nice considering the price point! Read more

My daughter purchased this as a scooter that she could use for a while since the weight limit was 264lbs. It also claims it can ride up a 15% incline. When we got the scooter, we plugged it in to charge. We let it charge overnight and in the morning the charger displayed a green light showing it was charged. We took it out on the streets and tried it out. My daughter (who is maybe 70 lbs) said she thought it would be faster but was happy with it on the flat surfaces. I tried it out and it wouldn't even pull me up a 3% incline. I'm only 160lbs and well within the weight limit. We tried it on all modes and it wouldn't make it at all. When I contacted customer service explaining what my concerns were and just trying to find out if we had a faulty unit, or the specifications are just skewed for lighter riders. Their response was that "we overcharged the unit and caused damage that voids the warranty" That was it! They didn't ask any other questions, or answer any of my questions. It was just like they wanted a way to get out of covering a warranty because there is no way to overcharge the scooter and that is absolutely not the issue! When the light turns green, it isn't outputting any current anymore. If there was a way to overcharge it, then it is so poorly engineered that it isn't worth anything! Buyer beware as well because all the reviews are free product reviews so they are all biased. Overall, the scooter is ok on flat surfaces, but the should not advertise the specifications that they did because they are very inaccurate. Read more
