I'm not sure there's a whole lot to say here. They're gym shorts. The material is a pretty typical - 100% polyester, so always good for moisture wicking. Stitching all seems fine and no quality or comfort concerns after gym time. I got the dark grey in M. I wear size 36 and these were just a touch snug, but that's perfectly fine as I'm sure they'll break in and fit great in no time. While zippered pockets are perhaps a bit atypical for gym shorts, I don't mind - for the most part. But here comes the catch... If you're doing strength or low impact cardio, then no issues. However, if you're doing something high impact, e.g. running, those metal pull tab on the metal zipper teeth are going to give you a fun little soundtrack of *clink*... *clink*... *clink*... *clink*... with each step. If you've got earbuds in or are in the zone, no big deal. If you're listening to the world around you, it's going to get annoying fast. Not really a deal breaker but worth noting regardless. I needed to get a new pair of workout shorts for the gym. I bought these for the length and zippers. They both hit the mark. I can easily fit my phone in the pocket and zip it. Granted, I don't have one of those giant plus phones, but no problem on the standard iPhone. I can also zip my keys and headphones in the other pocket. This is nice to have when I jog and also at the gym working out. My other shorts without zippers have my keys fall out when I am on the bench lifting weights. These shorts are light weight. Not sure about the quick dry as I don't get theme wet. My only concern for giving it 4 stars is the quality of the material for the price. Only time will tell, but overall these are good all around shorts for jogging and the gym. With the zippers I can also use them going around town and easily keeping my wallet secure in zippered pocket. Read more
I got these because I’ve been working out more lately (look at me making responsible life choices), and my old gym shorts were basically retired veterans from a different era of my life. These HQUEC mesh shorts? Upgrade. They’re lightweight, breathable, and actually feel like athletic shorts—not just glorified pajama bottoms pretending to support fitness goals. The quick-dry material is great for sweaty workouts, which is important because apparently “elliptical enthusiasm” is my thing now. But the real MVP feature? Zippered pockets. Absolute game changer. I can put my phone and keys in there without living in constant fear of them launching out mid-squat or during a treadmill sprint that lasts a very confident 90 seconds. They fit well, move easily, and don’t ride up or bunch weirdly. Whether you’re running, lifting, playing basketball, or just aggressively walking while pretending it’s cardio, these get the job done. These HQUEC Men’s Athletic Running Shorts check most of my boxes for gym workouts. I'm a tall guy at 6'3" and like my gym shorts to be 7"-9" long. This one hits the mark. They look nice and fit well, accentuated by a subtle, (non-reflective) stripe along the sides. Being they're 100% polyester, the mesh fabric does a good job of keeping things breathable. The elastic waistband with an adjustable drawstring ensures a comfortable fit. My only complaint is that the zippered pockets aren’t quite deep enough for my liking, they can't hold a phone or larger items comfortably, which somewhat limits practicability. I think something small like a key ring or loose change will be fine. Otherwise, I really like these shorts; they feel lightweight, dry quickly, and move easily. Read more
These shorts are good quality but the length is shorter than advertised or reflected on the model. The fabric is quick dry so that’s a plus. We love the black stripe section on the sides. In my opinion, there is nothing spectacular about these running shorts that would make them worth $25. They’re $20 with the coupon but I am not sure I would even pay that for a non-name brand pair of running shorts. Read more
So, I was a little concerned when I first got these. They looked quite small, more like something one of my older kids would wear than I. But they do, in fact, fit. The elastic is very, well, elastic, and does stretch as needed. They're single-layer, great for warm weather exercise. Colors are very uniform and solid. The drawstring looks like a strong shoestring, which is a good thing, and is not sewn in place in the back. I prefer it not be sewn in place, as it is much easier to replace if it wears out. Basic decent quality mesh workouts shorts. Pluses are that they look to be constructed really well, fit well (XL fits 205 5'9") and look great with the side piping stripe. The roomy front pockets also have two zippers for security but here's where a few minuses kick in: Even on first pull the zippers seem flimsy and the teeth catch - I'm thinking it won't be long before they snag. The fabric of the shorts is mesh, which breathes well, but the mesh is so sheer you wouldn't want to wear these without underwear, which kind of negates the mesh effect. My husband loves these running shorts, the gray color is stylish and will match any shirt and the length is down to his knees, so they provide ample coverage. They also have a drawstring to tighten them if needed. The material is breathable and prevents sweating. He has been wearing these for workouts as well as just lounging around the house; they are very comfortable and fit as expected. I have washed them a few times and they didn't start to pill or fade.
