Purchases for my figure skating daughter. We live in AZ but the rinks get very cold in the winter. She lost or outgrew all her old leg warmers. I purchase these because one of the rinks she skates at is downright frigid. These have wool in them and she felt them instantly and appreciated how warm they were. These are effective and cute. These leg warmers are a happy surprise, well above expectations! Well-made, well-designed, soft, warm, good fiber quality, substantial, fit nicely! A few comments: ---of all the fair isle leg warmers I've seen online, these are by far the most accurate and well-designed combination of fair isle patterns and colors, which contributes a lot to the appearance of quality. ---the colors are a bit more subtle and the patterns a bit less distinct than online. ---the instructions say hand wash them and NO DRYER. Better take note, for they are 35% wool and wool can shrink in the dryer. Also, I'd turn them inside out when hand washing. ---I haven't worn them yet and already see a few slight pills. Abrasion causes pilling, so if worn under boots there could be more to come. ---the website says 35% wool/65% acrylic, however there are no tags on the items stating fiber content. As a matter of principle, it's very important for manufacturers to include material content tags on garments, and consumers should never allow this policy to slip, cause it's a slippery slope that does not favor the consumer. If fiber content of garments is unknown eventually you could be paying for what you think is 100% wool, cotton or silk, and getting 100% acrylic or polyester. That said, I'm letting this case off the hook cause the fiber content IS stated on the website, and I'm satisfied with the quality, but as a general principle, material content tags on garments may be a trade law and that's a consumer protection we should keep!
