I walk a lot and I try to protect my face from sun rays. where I live is very windy, especially in winter time. I need a hat that says on and doesn’t flop around. This is just as described on the listing. It has a wire imbedded on the rim that allows you to bend and mold the hat to your liking. I cut small pieces from the ends of the chin strap so that I can create small loops on the edge of the hat that allows me to flatten the hat on the sides, that’s just my preference. This hat is mostly as described, and came before expected. I wouldn’t consider it lightweight since it feels more like canvas material and can make your head hot when in direct sunlight. The green coloring on the reverse side is quite a bit lighter than I thought it would be. It looks more off white than green. The string that comes to tie was really crumpled up but I didn’t intend to use it anyway so I took it out. Those are the reasons why I’m deducting a star. Regardless the sun protection is 10/10 and covers the front and back of my neck. That is what I got it for so I’m happy. I have pretty broad shoulders so it doesn’t completely cover them but still great coverage all in all. The wires in the brim make it easy to style in different ways and keeps it from flopping in your line of sight. The hat is a little too tight for me to pull it all the way down to fill the cap space so there’s a little extra on top that my head doesn’t fill out. Still wearable though. This hat is cute, offers good sun protection and is great for a day in your yard or while going for a walk in calm weather. But it's useless in the wind. I recently wore it while walking on the beach at Olympic National Park and there was only a very slight breeze, but it nevertheless blew up under the hat brim, sending it up over my forehead and leaving my face completely exposed to the sun. I had to hold the brim down during the whole 5-mile walk in order to get the sun protection I needed, which was a real hassle. I will never wear this hat again for anything other than on a windless day on my deck. If you're looking for an all-purpose/all-weather sun hat, I would not recommend this one. Read more

The perfect sun hat! It fits perfectly and the fabric/weight is perfect. The brim is actually perfect to cover nose area (skin cancer) and the brim can be flipped back to different degrees and will hold - as I look down to pick weeds etc and not fall down over eyes. This sun hat is awesome. The brim is wide enough that it covers the back of my neck. The sun hat is foldable, making it convenient to put away in any travel bag. It's very functional due to it being reversible. One side is tan and the other is black. The wide brim style keeps the sun away from my face at any angle.
