This is a very cute stained glass owl night light! It seems to be actual colored glass with different glass in between the darker borders. The overall size is about 6” x 4” x 2”. It has a standard two prong plug. Included with the owl is a light bulb and a small Phillips head screw driver. The Phillips head is for loosening a set screw on the plug so you can rotate it. There is a green leaf cap on the top that keeps the light around the owl. I am not sure what the wire is that is connecting the hat to the back of the owl…a ground maybe? There is an off/on switch on the plastic plug housing. Overall it is a nice somewhat heavy night light. Because it is glass, it is breakable, but it comes in bubble wrap. This so cute. There is not a single chip on or flaw. The colors are vibrant and the light not too bright. A gentle yellow light is what leaks out from behind the stained glass. The rotatable plug makes installing it anywhere super easy. I live in an old house and most of my outlet plugs are upside down for this type of item. It is big and does have a wire between the hat and the owls shoulder. If you have curious pets or small children, this wire might be a problem. I think it is only ascetic and could be removed, but am not certain. The light is bright enough that I do not need to turn on the light at night to use the bathroom. This helps me keep my night vision while walking through the rest of the house. I tried it in the kitchen as well. It gave enough light so we could make a midnight snack, even a sandwich. If you are looking for a cute addition that prevents needing bright light in the night, I recommend this. I wouldn't have stepped on so many legos checking on the kids if I had this in their rooms. This is super cute and all stained glass as in actual stained glass and not that plastic stuff that is sometimes sold by others. The owl is so cute I absolutely love the little leaf hat it has on with the wire tassel. Before you get this just know it is very fragile and NOT meant for a kids room or anywhere they can reach or it could break and cut them.
