No tank! What a fantastic idea. It’s so easy to just plop the hose into any gallon size jug of water! The only thing there is to clean is the “sink” part which is so much easier than cleaning a whole tank. I love that it is cool mist because it uses less electricity than warm mist and there is no chance of my cat accidentally getting burned. I live in Colorado where it's very dry, especially in winter when the forced air heat is on. My acoustic guitars have to be keep at 45% humidity so they don't develop cracks. I needed a humidifier that could keep my man cave a constant 45%. With every humidifier I've tried in the past I was having to refill the water reservoir a lot. What a pain! This device can draw water from pretty much any water container but fits in those 5 gallon water bottles the grocery stores sell just perfectly. It creates an amazing amount of water vapor which quickly gets the room to the desired humidity. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the humidity gauge (hydrometer ) on the device is inaccurate. I have two accurate hydrometers in the room. In order for them to read the desired 45% humidity I have to set the desired humidity level (using the supplied remote control) to 60%-65%. Sometimes that setting will maintain a constant 45% but at times my two hydrometers will read 50-60%. It would be nice if when I set the constant humidity on the device at 45% I could reliably see 45% on my two hydrometers. For most people this isn't going to be much of an issue...only us geeky guitar players! So, I highly recommend this device! Read more

The amount of steam it produces is wonderful. It helped me sleep comfortably throughout the night! However, the apparatus doesn’t fit securely on the 5-gallon water bottle. If the water bottle or the humidifier is bumped, even slightly, it wobbles as if it’s going to fall off. Please be careful with small children! Read more
