hykolity 2 Pack LED High Bay Light 200W 5000K UFO LED High Bay Light Fixture with US Plug

After much review and sifting the many results of Amazon high bay lights, I settled on these units from Hykolity for reasons of best price, solid technical details for designing my layout, and overall good history with customers. I have a 50'x84' shop that I wanted to replace some dim florescent lighting with, and these seemed to fit the need for producing the needed light with as little units as possible. I Was able to replace 6x 8' florescent assemblies with only 4x of these 150w high bay lights. The great part is, it was just a replacement, it was a vast improvement. My shop is very well lit now in my center area where I placed these lights. I put them at 16' high, in my center area which is about 40x50 of the shop footprint. The lighting is very well covered and the only extra lights I've added were just small units above my workbench for an extra kick of light with fine working on the bench itself. Every time I turn the lights on it puts a smile on my face. very rewarding to install these and just have instant on great color tone brightness. These are 5000k, and nice bright color, but with some warmth in the tone, not the cold blue 6000k+ color which would leave my shop feeling like a meat locker. Installation was fairly simple. I bought some light chain and wood screw hooks from a box hardware store, and hung them from a beam in the placement I thought to be best for overall coverage between 4 units and a total of 40'x50' area needing light. I chose to install a single gang outlet to simply plug in the light and have the circuit switched. Installing the standard plug isn't bad, but I recommend taking your time and ensure your wires aren't too long inside the provided connector. It's just enough room to connect them and close up the connector enough to compress the o-ring for moisture sealing. I was able to do this fine for all 4 units, but just take it easy and you'll get through. Pay attention to the markings on the end of the plug where the prongs are, this indicates which wires are labeled what. On the connector next to the screw terminal, you'll see the corresponding symbol. Can use your multi meter to validate selected wire to the right pin on your plug as well to match the color of the wire to the pin. Units came with instructions as well. Read more

I purchased these after calculating how many lumens were recommended for an indoor sport court - which for my size was over 32,000 lumens. Instead of installing nearly two dozen can lights - I wired 3 switched outlets in the ceiling and purchased three of these but only used two since they are so incredibly bright, even at 18' above the floor. I purchased additional lights for a 5,000 sq foot storage building with a 22' ceiling to replace some old 500W high-pressure sodium lights. This will be an energy savings and they will be brighter and immediate on/off vs having to wait for the old lights to warm up. My wife installed one of these in her horse barn just 9' off the ground and they are probably too bright for low applications unless you need very detailed lighting. They are well built, easy to install (plug in) and have a safety cable and carabiner to assist in hanging them. Read more

I bought these lights to install in my shop. After reading the reviews I selected these 150 w UFO LEDs. The light chart on the ad help me decide on the number of lights that I needed. My shop is 36 by 36 with 16 foot walls and I decided to purchase 6 lights. After opening the box I could tell that they were quality lights. I was also impressed with the pigtails that were perfectly cut and the wire was skinned and ready to add the three wire plug. I decided to use the plug and I installed outlets on the rafters. This allowed testing before the install. I used a screw eye come out the light with they provided hook. The lights also come with a safety wire just in case the hook failed for some reason. Let me tell you these lights are really bright. You definitely do not want to look directly at them when testing unless you want to see spots for some time. After the install I waited for night time to take some pictures, my gosh these things are bright! I am thoroughly pleased with the look. I will have no problem seeing things in my shop now 6 lights or perfect for my 36 by 36 shop. Read more

40’ x 60’ building 16’ walls I purchased 7 of these lights and so far I’m really impressed. I only needed 6 which is PLENTY but I had a shadowed area in front of my RV. I had difficulty getting information to decide just how many I’d need and how to space them. So here is what I have and my comments. Hope it helps. 40’x60’ building with 16’ walls and 4:12 pitch roof. My lights are probably around 18’ ish high and there is plenty of light. Originally planned to put about 14’ but they are so bright I raised them. 6 lights are plenty for my 40 x 60 shop. I mounted the lights on a pulley system with high strength parachute cord so I could access them in the future since they are so high and requires a lift. I made loops out of 16” stainless cables and wired them to the extension cord every 3’ or so and ran the cord in the middle so it would accordion Into loops when raised. They’re high enough not to be a distraction I think. I purchased 15’ extension cords and put an outlet above each light to plug into. I’ll try to post photos of those soon. These lights are very bright. We installed one above a large machine in the shop. When one of the workers saw how bright it was, he asked that the second one be installed above his work staion. The ceiling is 14-16 feet high. It lights a large area. The casing is metal and they were very easy to install. I definitely will buy them again and recommend. They're a good value for the price.
