Pros: Bright, easy to install, lightweight, can be mounted to an electrical box or with drywall anchors. Cons: I can very obviously see the orange wire nuts through the cover which isn't a big deal in my case but something worth considering. Also this is very bright even on the lowest wattage. In our basement utility room, we have had a 4' fluorescent shop light on the ceiling in for quite a while. It has worked out OK, but every 5-7 years, I have had to replace the tubes. This time, I was not sure whether the bulbs/tubes had gone bad or whether the ballast was tired. So, I decided to replace it with this light set. I am in my late 70's and working over my head with removing the old light and installing the new one, was a bit challenging. It was not difficult, but the old arms just did not cooperate and it took a bit longer than expected. The new light was a dramatic improvement over the original one. It provides extremely bright, high contrast light for the area and hopefully, will never require replacement or repair. It looks fine, but if you are using this in an area where appearance is critical, you may have an issue, as noted elsewhere, with the internal wiring showing up on the light diffuser panel. This light fixture is amazing. It's super lightweight, super bright and I'll never have to buy a bulb for it. (Note: This is a hardwired fixture. You connect it to your house circuits, it doesn't plug in.) I have about 8 fluorescent light fixtures in my basement. I decided to replace one of the fixtures because the electronics (probalby the ballast) had gone bad and no bulb would light in it. Some of my fixtures still have the old style fluorescent bulbs, some I've replaced with LED bulbs - the T8 bulbs that look like old fluorescent style, but are filled with LEDs. This fixture was easy to install because there was almost nothing inside. There are some wires, an electronic controller that you can hardly notice, two strips of LED elements - AND **NO BULBS**. No *sockets* for the bulbs. And those LED bulbs or old fluorescent bulbs, THEY AIN'T CHEAP. This fixture doesn't use any bulbs. And by the time the LED elements burn out, I won't be around to see them. As far as I'm concerned, this is a lifetime light fixture. The elimination of bulbs makes this fixture super lightweight. It's extremely easy to hold the entire fixture with one hand while wiring or turning screws with the other. Beyond that, to my amazement, this fixture with its built-in LED lighting elements, is much brighter than my old fluorescent bulbs or my LED replacement bulbs. And no flicker and no dimming. Like most LED lights, it takes about one second to light up, but then it's there - super bright and dependable AND NO BULBS to replace. This fixture is amazing and I'll be replacing the other 7 fixtures in my basement over the next year. This light fixture is a winner! Look no further. Read more

Incredible lighting: Having said that the mounting holes center to center are different from that of the exiting older florescent figure so before you start get your mounting holes set for the new fixture. This will prevent a BIG headache mid installation. Read more
