My impressions of this mirror have been superb. I like it so much that I'm waiting on an electrician to wire it into the lighting circuit. The photos will be of it resting in front of the old mirror. Plastic is on in the photos to keep it protected until it's permanently mounted. From the start, the internal packaging is pretty good. There's custom-made inserts on the inside that keep it somewhat floating off the front face. I would have liked to have seen more protection on the glass side, but it is fully intact and perfect. I held this mirror and looked at it from every which angle I could think of. I am happy to say that I can't see any distortion or warping. There are two touch-sensitive buttons built into the face of the mirror. First one controls the defogger. Second one controls the color temperature. The anti-fog works well. Be sure to pre-warm this a minute or two before you take a shower. Most anti-fog mirrors require this. Tap the light button to turn it on. Tap it again (within the first 5 seconds) to cycle the 3 color temperatures (warmer white, white, cooler white). Same button turns it off after 5 seconds. It remembers the last set color temperature. The front light gives everything that "model" look due to the ring. Pair both of these lighting features together, and you get the recipe for some great photos and a nicely lit look at yourself. There's an edge light that gives an even and diffuse background fill. This edge light is about 1 inch thick, which is how far the mirror protrudes from the wall. As such, this is not flush mountable. This is because the power supply and cable are within, and give it room for an outlet should there be one. Lots of new-construction nowadays includes recessed wall outlet boxes. If you're building a house, put a full outlet box there and not just a junction box. If you're installing on existing construction, this will likely need to plug into a nearby outlet. It may be possible to adapt this to work on your existing lighting circuit, but it will likely be a challenge. Be aware of local electrical codes. It comes with some very beefy drywall hangers, long screws, and some specially made hanger clips for mounting it to the wall. (Please excuse the red-ish light in the photo. I realized afterwards that the light setting was not on white scale but was using RGB led's within the filament to make a warm light to the human eye) The color temperatures from the mirror look very accurate compared to the upper lights. This mirror looks quite modern and has some useful functions over standard mirrors. The mirror is large and wide and can look nice in single or dual configurations for one or two station vanities. The mirror has built in lights that eliminate shadows and add some extra light to the space. The lights and buttons are seamlessly integrated into the mirror but are not reflective in those areas, they are a frosted matte color when the lights are off. The lights are not bright enough for stand-alone lighting for a bathroom but they are bright enough to be functional for grooming or aesthetic applications. The mirror has some dimensionality to it and sits a bit off the wall which gives it less of a builder grade look than standard mirrors. The mounting is done with a rail that you screw into the wall and then hooks into ridges on the back channel of the mirror. The mounting ridges go all the way around the mirror so you can mount it in any configuration but there is a electric box on one of the corners of the back panel. The mirror plugs in with an included cable or can be directly wired into the wall, there is usually electrical lines in the surrounding area for vanity lights that you can tap into if you lack a convenient outlet or want a cleaner look. Additional details, the lights do dim and adjust, it wasn't initially clear to me how this was done but if you tap on the light it will turn on or off. If you tap-and-hold then it will brighten or dim, when it hits it's maximum or minimum brightness then it will blink three times. There is a defog setting that I haven't been able to fully test as my bathroom is ventilated but the mirror does get pretty evenly warm but not hot and it is set to turn off after a fixed period if you happen to forget, which is a great feature. The buttons do stay lit at all times so you can see or use them in the dark. These could be good night lights if you don't want to blind yourself with the overhead lights when using the washroom in the middle of the night.irror. Read more
