I have a 3-car garage that is still not well lit, despite my electrician having added several ceiling lights to it. I ordered this UFO High Bay Light to try to correct that issue, and I think it will work well either in the garage proper OR in the loft above (more on that in a minute!). I placed the light on my garage chest freezer just to test it (see my first photo), then I plugged it in. I couldn't look directly at the light without it hurting my eyes as it is EXTREMELY bright - that's a good thing, of course! I was puzzled when I read the instructions and they said to have a licensed electrician install this, as you just need to hang it (I am alas not the slightest bit mechanically inclined, but even I will be able to do that!) and plug it in. Of course if you want to hard-wire it to use it with a switch, you'll need an electrician unless you are comfortable working with electricity (I'm definitely not!). The light itself is about a foot around, so a good size. Just put a hook or chain onto its circle and you can securely hang it. I was originally going to use it in the middle of my garage ceiling, but I think I will instead hang it from the ceiling of the garage LOFT, which is over about 3/4 of the 3 bays (the loft space is ~450-500 square feet so a great size) - right now it has 1 light fixture in it and so there are LOTS of dark corners where I suspect little creatures reside, and it would be nice to have a light this bright to scare them off so I can get more lightweight "stuff" up there for storage! Overall this will be GREAT in my loft and I will try to remember to add another photo or two once my electrician adds an outlet for it up there (it's WAY too cold - below freezing - for him to work up there now). At $55.99 (as of 1/2/26), it's a good deal for something that provides this much illumination to dark spaces! Read more

I recently installed the HYPERLITE UFO High Bay Light in my workshop, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Here are my thoughts: Brightness: The light is incredibly bright! It completely lit up my entire workshop, which previously had poor lighting. I went from using several old, dim bulbs to just one of these UFO lights, and the difference is night and day. It’s perfect for working on detailed projects. Energy Efficiency: I was a bit concerned about energy consumption, but after installing it, I’ve already noticed a reduction in my electricity bill. The 150W version is more than enough for my space, and it’s so much more efficient than traditional lighting. Installation: Super easy to install! The light comes with a sturdy hook and all the necessary hardware. I had it up and running in under 10 minutes. Build Quality: It feels durable and well-built. The metal housing is solid, and I appreciate how the light doesn't get too hot, even after being on for hours. Durability: It’s built to last. I’ve used it for a few weeks now, and it has shown no signs of wear or issues. It’s rated for 50,000 hours of use, so I’m confident it’ll last for years. Conclusion: Overall, I highly recommend the HYPERLITE UFO High Bay Light if you're looking for a high-performance, energy-efficient, and easy-to-install lighting solution. It’s a great investment for any garage, workshop, or high-ceilinged space. The bright, uniform light has transformed the way I work! Read more
This high bay light is seriously bright. It lights up a large space with no problem at all. Perfect for garages, workshops, or warehouses where you need clear, even illumination. The build is solid, and the plug and play setup makes installation quick and painless. Once it’s on, there’s no flicker and the light output is impressive for the size. If you need maximum brightness without complicated wiring, this is a great option. Read more

This lamp is bright as the sun! And it puts off a ton of heat to be that bright. The casing gets very hot in a short time (thus my 4-star instead of 5-star rating), so be sure you are putting it someplace where it can't be a fire hazard. The best application for this light for safety purposes I believe would be a warehouse or a very large garage or out building, especially if the structure is a more fire-resistant metal versus wood construction. There's nothing intrinsically hazardous about the light , I just feel it would be most safely applied to an industrial atmosphere rather than a domestic one. Hanging it is very simple; I like the extra security of the safety rope. To get started, just plug it in and you've got the brightest light known to mankind right at your fingertips. Read more
This isn't my first Hyperlite product by a long shot, I probably have about 14 of these by now in various garages where I store my collection of cars. In some areas I have these non-adjustable lights and in areas where I repair these cars I have their temperature and wattage adjustable versions. The reason I stuck with this brand is for a few reasons, first and foremost the lights are simply stellar in output and how they broadcast. The other reason is their customer service has been top notch. On my first lighting project I checked with them on how many I needed for the area to be lit and they asked me for dimensions and other important bits of information. They then provided me with the best product to use and layout which worked perfectly. Anyway, these lights are impressive and pretty much all ways, just do a bit of homework to make sure you get the correct type of light and mount them in such a way that they complement each other and not have any hot spots or dead spots depending on your situation. If you have concerns about being too bright, look into their adjustable versions of the same lamp. Read more
