I used this ice cove on a recent camping trip in an suv tent attached to my car. It performed beautifully and I actually had to turn it down. The starting temperature was over 100° and the temperature in the tent dropped 10° every hour. I used electricity. I do not have the battery. Edit: this product worked wonderfully for one time. Now the warranty department is making me jump through hoops to prove it isn’t cooling by taking pictures and sending videos. This is ridiculous. I retract my high recommendation. Don’t purchase Read more

It certainly does blow out air that's colder than ambient. But there are some issues that should be fixed. The hose that covers the exhaust OR outlet (you only get one) doesn't fully cover the entire exhaust or cold air outlet - so if the unit is outside your camper/tent, then cold air is escaping before it gets into your target area. So too is the case with the exhaust. If you're having the unit inside and venting the hot air out, the hose adapter blows a portion of the hot air back into the cooled environment. Overall, I'd give the unit's effectiveness a solid C+. I was neither comfortable nor uncomfortable on a warm night in my small teardrop trailer. Read more

Pros: It does cool. Battery lasts at least 4 hours on low air and cooling to 74F Solar panel can fully charge on a single day of full sun. Not terribly loud. Easy to install and use. Cons: Without any form of remote control it's a setup and ignore unit. Changing setting could mean disturbing your sleep or tearing down and restoring your configuration. Lock does not secure battery to a/c unit. Comes detached without sliding the yellow tab. Second hose is not available. On 2nd use didn't seem to cool as well. Didn't stop me from perspiring after running for hours feeding into my enclosed tent. 12v car power connector isn't very strong connecting to battery. Read more

For only using about 200 watts, this thing puts out some decent cold air! It's not crazy cold like a traditional air conditioner running a standard compressor at >1200 watts, but it works to keep our RV at a decent temperature. It will need to run constantly when it's warm out but the low fan speed is very quiet, it's more of a white noise generator and doesn't have that weird vibration sound from larger air conditioner units. I like that I can run this on my RV's inverter without having to turn on the generator and I can run it all day long with my solar panels. There's a show on Etsy that sells RV window attachments so you can hook up the exhaust tube. I made one out of wood for one of our RV small slider windows. Read more

Purchased a/c, spare battery and solar panel. One battery failed after one year seven months. Only used 3-4 times camping. Company advised the warranty is for only one year. They did not offer to repair, replace or prorate the cost of a new battery. This is an expensive battery. It should have lasted much longer. Read more

I purchased the AC for my travel van. after installing it I realized something was wrong. The compressor wasn't cooling the air. I tested it with a temperature gage and it in fact was not cooling. After contacting the company they refused to refund the product or give me a new one. Over 600 for a very expensive fan. absolutely not worth it. Read more

"Golden Bull Marketing" ultimately came thru; The Unit+Battery are game-changers! Fantastic product....it's a mini portable air conditioner with a battery! Eureka! "Golden Bull Marketing," sent me the battery 1 month after I bought the "ice cove deluxe package with battery" so I was initially upset. But they came thru w/ another ups delivery. But I confess the Unit+Battery are game-changers! Just solve the prob yourself by buying the cheapo Ice Cove and the Battery Bank separately! -Rich Read more
