Now, if you’re a guy heading out to a bar, you probably don’t want to smell like lavender any more than you want to smell like Ben-Gay, so don’t use it then. For example, I like certain scented wax melts, but my wife says they give her a headache—everyone’s different. Stickiness: Is it sticky? No, not really—at least no more than any other topical product for back pain. It doesn’t feel wet, and my clothes aren’t sticking to it. Going back to the smell: after it “dried,” I ran my finger over the area and could still smell it on my finger, but the menthol-type scent was more noticeable than the lavender. I get lower back pains occasionally, and tried almost everything there is on the market. This time around I got a bunch of patches with the purpose of seeing which one works the best.
