I bought these hooks because they complement my bathroom taps and accessories so they have that "attention to detail" feel. Before I ordered them, I was a bit worried of the fact that they are made of plastic and not ceramic. However, when I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised and didn’t think they looked tacky. In fact, plastic probably makes them lighter than if they were made of ceramic and if you’re using the hooks with a heavy shower curtain and liner, you may want to consider the weight placed upon the shower rail. I use these hooks with the InterDesign York waffle Shower Curtain and the InterDesign Fabric Waterproof Shower Curtain Liner both in white, and they hold the set really nicely, they don't come off the shower rail and glide smoothly. These hooks look much better than plastic or boring metallic ones and are fabulous additions for those who pay attention to details.. Read more

They look just like porcelain, but they're plastic

Maybe I should wait to see how well these slide and stay up to write a review, but upon arrival, these are exactly as pictured. "Plastic" accent is referring to the whole main white bulb... of course I should have read closer to see that there was no mention of porcelain at all in the description, but these are plastic shower rings. You really have to look closely at them and touch them to even tell that they are plastic, so I can't complain too much. Since they do look like porcelain, you have the advantage of not worrying about them breaking, falling, cracking, etc. I hope the chrome doesn't rust over time. A bit overpriced for plastic, however. this review is by Marc's wife-these shower hooks are so easy to use I can't believe anyone is still using the shower curtain rings. The InterDesign York Classic Shower Hooks work perfectly and look very nice indeed. We got the white which looked fabulous with our blue and white polyester shower liner. This works perfectly as a shower curtain all by itself, looks excellent, was inexpensive and washes in the washing machine like a dream. I have pain in my wrists and hanging the shower liner on the shower hooks on the shower rod caused no discomfort. I read in a review of shower hooks that sometimes the curtain jumped off the hooks: one reviewer mentioned that it happened with the stiffer standard vinyl shower curtain which they replaced with a polyester shower liner and that one stayed on the hooks (same hooks the stiffer one jumped off) Get these shower hooks! If there's any problems with "jumping" don't blame the shower hooks-just get a polyester shower liner! Read more
