This little machine makes amazing espresso! The looks in the photos can be deceiving. Sure it's compact and simple to use but this is a high quality appliance. This is not for your average coffee drinker. This is for espresso drinkers. It's not going to make a cappuccino or latte and it won't fill up your 16oz travel mug. It's just delicious espresso. There are some handy features on this machine though. The pods fall into a bin when the cycle is through. And there's a fold down tray perfect for your smaller espresso cups. I noticed that at least one reviewer said that it didn't take the pods that it claims to take. That's not accurate though. I will say that if you don't have coffee pod experience, then it can be confusing which pods to purchase for this machine. This machine takes the smaller, aluminum, Nespresso Original Line coffee pods. They don't have to be Nespresso brand or even Illy brand. They can be any brand at all as long as they say "compatible with Nespresso Original". So, if you are looking for an espresso machine. Yes! I highly recommend. But if you just want convenient coffee. I am so excited about this espresso maker! I have tried for years to make a latte at home but haven't been able to make anything I really like. I got exactly what I wanted on the first try with this machine. The machine was easy to set up and use, athough I did not get a user manual with my machine. I couldn't find the exact instructions online, but figured it out! Once I did I was so happy! I love that this machine uses not only the Illy pods, but also the Nespresso original pods. I also love that I can change the temperature of my espresso as I do not like my coffee super warm. It was quick and easy to do by holding the bottom button down with the machine off. I also love how it automatically dispenses the used capsule when you open the top lid to put in a new one. I couldn't figure out where it went at first, but finally realized you have to pull out the drip tray to get it. The machine is quiet for an espresso machine in my opinion. I love this thing build quality feels great, it's easy to use and it functions flawlessly. It is a little confusing at first trying to figure out what kind of pods it takes. Takes espresso original line capsules as I read this review I realized it says it in the title but it doesn't say that is clearly in the directions or on the box.
