ILNP Sea Glass - Deep Cobalt Blue Shimmer Nail Polish

This polish company has THE MOST AMAZING colors. This color is especially striking, I swear 6 people stopped me in the course of 3 days to randomly tell me how much they loved the color . . . I have NEVER had anyone stop me to ask about my nail polish. That would be enough but the polish itself goes on like a dream. First, it is just the right consistency to go on smooth and thin to brush on easily and dry quickly. I have found I get the best results using two (sometimes 3) thin coats - the first one I cut in close, allow to dry and clean up the major boo-boos. Then I go in with the second coat and don’t have to cut in quite as close, minimizing touch ups. If desired, you can add a third coat if you went too thin but it’s better to build it rather than try to glob on a thick single coat. This series of polish has what I like to call “micro” glitter so the multiple coats build this look even more. It’s a really special kind of sparkle - much more depth to it. It catches your eye for sure. I used their crystal clear top coat which is also amazing. I was applying over Kiss glue on nails so I can’t speak to how it will hold up on natural nails but I had no chipping what so ever. I was specifically trying to compliment Univ. of Pitt blue for an event and they advised me on what to pick - a perfect match! I am not great at doing my nails but I hated the effort I put in just to have it chip off in a couple days with brands like Essie, China Glaze & OPI. I decided to try this based on reviews all over the internet. Sea Glass is a gorgeous shimmery blue that looks like an old polish I was obsessed with from the Alice in Wonderland release many years ago. This is the FIRST shimmery polish I've ever used where the glitter is so microfine that I don't feel the chunks when I'm applying it. Regular acetone nail polish remover takes it right off, no need to scrub all the glitter off in soaks and multiple passes like in the past. The color is stunning and it lasts way longer than any other polish I've tried. Here was my process: -Cuticle remover -Acetone nail polish remover to prime the nail (remove oils, debris, etc.) -1 coat of Nailtiques Formula 2 Plus as a base coat -2 coats Sea Glass, waiting 2 minutes between each coat (use a toothpick or brush dipped in acetone to remove the excess polish that gets in the spaces you don't want it) -2 coats Seche Vite top coat, waiting 2 minutes between each coat -Cuticle oil or cream to finish Read more

I am capital-O Obsessed with this nail polish. I bought the cobalt blue for fun, saw just how much fun it was after I put it on, and have ordered two other colors. I can sit and watch the way the color changes in the sunlight for, like, longer than maybe I should! 😂 You gotta apply multiple coats, folks! One will not do and that's normal for polish. Apply three coats and let dry in between to get the full effects, which are totally worth it! I have a really tough-on-the-hands job (package handler, lots of abrasive nylon bags) so it doesn't last long (about two days), but I also haven't tried using the top coat, which might make it last longer. In any case, I kinda don't care because the colors are so much fun! I just take it off and reapply. When I'm not working, it lasts a couple more days. Read more

Certain shades are difficult to find, and cobalt blue is one is the hardest. I am so impressed by this nail polish. It's easy to apply, has great shine, and hasn't chipped at all yet. It dried pretty quickly too. I used two coats and a top-coat and I can't complain about durability. There's clearly some kind of glitter in the polish, but it doesn't have that glitter texture when you touch it. I wish it was a more solid metallic, but that's a very minor complaint. Read more

the product is certainly beautiful in the picture, but it needs at least 3-4 coat of polish to get it where it should be and that's very bad. Any time you have to apply a polish 3-4 times it tells me it's not good quality or worth it and drying time will take forever. It's not worth the price nor time, the choice is yours. Having said that, the company was nice enough to make things right and was appreciative for their effort and for that I support their efforts and decided to give them a 4 star for efforts. Read more
