Pleasantly surprised by this product! I have fine hair that often looks oily and flat on the second day after washing. I’ve been using this product at the roots instead of dry shampoo and it’s working great. Not only does it make my hair look way less greasy, it also adds volume. It spreads into hair easily with no white powdery residue. I got the cedarwood scent and was worried it would smell too masculine, but the scent is very subtle. I can’t even really smell it at all after a few minutes. I plan to purchase more once this runs out! Read more

I have fine, limp hair so am always on the lookout for body and volumizing hair products and decided to give this texture powder a try. It came in a 4oz travel bottle with a pump dispenser, along with a packet of refill powder. After reading the instructions I pumped some powder into my hand and applied to my roots towards the front and sides of my hair. It seemed to disappear and give me a volume boost…until I ran a brush atop the outside layers to style and then any effect I’d imagined left and my hair looked the same. Next I pumped some powder directly on the roots towards the back of my head and ran my fingers through to disperse it. It’s weird how the powder disappear as the product description says it will. It left sort of a sticky feeling and definitely added texture. I’m having trouble describing the feeling. Somewhat damp but not The cedarwood scent is subtle, but still more noticeable than I prefer. It carries forward more scent than any of the other products I use. I think this product might be best described as a new-to-me version of dry shampoo. For my fine hair I think I’ll be reaching for volumizing styling mousse for my roots still. But for a short cut I might very well prefer this to a styling gel. Read more

I have long, super fine hair with basically no texture, so volume is always a struggle. I also have very dark hair, so I have to work this powder in carefully or it can make my roots look a little lighter. It comes in a travel-size bottle with a refill, which is nice. It gives a subtle lift at the roots, but as soon as I brush or style, any volume disappears. Not bad for adding grip, but don’t expect it to magically give fine, limp hair serious volume. My hair is very fine and tangles easily, and not every product works well on it. After applying the powder, I used a hot brush and blow-dried my hair for a while to add some movement, but it didn’t really work. My hair is very straight, and I didn’t notice any extra volume or change in the style. Maybe I didn’t apply enough, but I didn’t like how my hair felt, kind of thick, not soft or easy to manage. However, I think that’s because of my hair type, which is very thin and fragile. I believe this product would work better with thick, strong hair. Read more
