My wife was really excited to get a full face light theropy mask. Previously she was using one that just covered her eyes, so she would awkwardly move it up and down her face while she was laying down. Being able to 'treat' everything at once is a big plus. This is however not a perfect product. 1-The battery life is far less than the instructions suggest. At least how I read the instructions they said the battery would last 6 months. I should have assumed this was 6 months without use, but that's not what the instructions say. In real life I think the battery will last about 90 minutes in total and it takes about that same amount of time to charge the battery to full from our wall outlets, but the built in usb-c ports are probably low voltage. 2-My wife says that the 'upper lip' piece is sort of pointless. There are no led's in that piece, so what is the point? Also, having this lip piece does make it more difficult for her to adjust the mask properly. A side note to this, the led's around the mask are sort of randomly space, which is a bit confusing. I guess I can't definitively say this is a con, because I don't know if there is any science behind this, but it seems inefficient. I've tried a bunch of different light therapy masks and one of the things I really like about this V VYM red light therapy mask as compared to others is how wide the back strap is and that it has a head strap. The back strap sits comfortably against my head, so I can lie down and relax while using the mask without the strap poking me in the back of my head. If I want to sit upright while using the mask, the top strap securely holds the mask in place without the mask pulling on my facial skin. I also like that this mask comes with silicone pieces that frame your eyes to help keep the light out. Some light does still leak in to my eye areas though, so I do prefer to keep my eyes closed while wearing the mask. The mask is cordless and comes with a rechargeable remote, making the it completely portable. The box includes instructions on how to operate/program the mask and they are easy to read/understand. It has 3 Quick Modes (Brightening, Soothing and Anti-aging) that are a pre-programed for both the length of time the mask stays on and the lights used during the therapy. Each of those preset modes cycle through the yellow, red and infrared lights in different patterns for about 15 minutes. You can also choose to use only red light or only infrared light and you are able to adjust the mW/cm (the intensity) of the lights and the length of time the mask stays on from 5 to 30 minutes. There is also a My Skincare mode which you can program the mW/cm (intensity) for both the infrared (830nm) and red (633nm) lights and set the amount of time you want it run. Once you've programed your My Skincare settings, you can simply select the My Skincare mode from the main screen and it will remember your settings. After using the mask several times a week (it is generally recommended to use light therapy around 3x/week), my skin looks less irritated and smoother. the item works and arrived as described. I found that it was hard to get this attached close enough to my face that it actually blocks out the light from getting into my eyes. from what I have read, that’s not super safe or healthy for my eyes, and even with cutting the Velcro so I could make an X on the back of my head while attaching, I couldn’t seem to get it tight enough to where the “goggles” part of the eye area was actually flush with my skin. this may not be an issue to people for the benefit of the skincare but I am a bit apprehensive to use it because I worry that it could be bad for my eyes. I’ve never tried this kind of masks before and it was forever on my “to check” list. I finally decided to give it a go and I’m curious to see long term effects. This is a really nice mask. It looks luxurious straight from the box so it definitely makes a good gift. I didn’t have to charge it prior to use because it was almost fully charged. Instructions say that if the battery level is under 50% it should be charged before first use. The use is rather simple - after washing and drying my face I put the mask on. It has Velcro straps so you can accommodate it to fit good. I struggled a bit with it because I didn’t know how tight it should be (probably not too tight, I ended with some red lines on my nose because I tightened it too much). After few minutes I decided that I was comfortable enough and turned it on. I choose the quick mode that mixed orange light with red light, choosing anti again setting that lasts about 15 minutes and relaxed. The infrared light is intense and it makes my skin warm but really pleasant- I kinda drifted away and almost fall asleep because 15 minutes just flew by. I think this is really nice to add to nighttime routine- little relaxing light massage (if I can call it massage). It is recommended to use it daily for 4-6 weeks so I’ll try to make it my daily routine. It’s a bit uncomfortable to keep eyes open while having lights on but it might be just my eyes (blue eyes are very sensitive to light) so it definitely works better for nighttime for me - when I can sit and close my eyes and just relax. Overall I like this mask. I don’t have other similar items to compare but it feels well made, it looks elegant and the lights felt really relaxing to me. Read more

I enjoy red light therapy and decided to try a face mask. It’s not the most comfortable, but it’s not really uncomfortable. It’s just awkward for me. The eye areas are a big letdown, though, quite a bit of light peeks through and I’m just not comfortable with that. I’m thinking about getting those little tanning bed goggles to remedy that issue, I personally feel that it should be a built-in protection though. Read more
