This review is for the 2025 Slanted Toenail Clippers for Ingrown Nails, Wide Jaw Opening, of which I've found to be well constructed, as well as designed. I can usually tell when nail clippers are solid just by how they feel in my hand, and I'm rather particular about the toenail clippers I use. This one feels solid. And it is unlike any I've tried thus far. What I like: ~ Unlike the basic design, which is relatively short and force my thumb to "pinch" firmly down at the narrow end in order to activate the cutting mechanism, (um...ouch) it's about 4" in length, and fits well in my hand. This allows my entire hand to participate, which takes a great deal of pressure off the joints of my thumb. This is more and more useful as we mature and our joints start to push back on their life-long working conditions. ~ Those experiencing hand function or dexterity challenges at any age may also benefit from the stability, ease of use and maneuverability this product design offers. The slanted, super sharp cutting edge allows me to come from a much more ergonomic side angle than straight-on. This makes it so much easier and less awkward to cut my toenails. The longer cutting edge makes it equally useful on each toenail - from my pinkies to my big toes. ~ The sliding latch mechanism, that is easily operated with one finger & used to both open and lock the clippers, is a useful feature. It not only protects the cutting edges, as well as your fingers, during storage, it also slims down considerably, taking up less space. This is super essential when I travel! ~ Included with the clippers is a medium-size, fine grit metal nail file, which is a nice bonus that can also come in handy while traveling. I really like the 2025 Slanted Toenail Clippers for Ingrown Nails, Wide Jaw Opening, and am really happy I decided to try them out! Definitely recommend! Read more
I ordered these as one side of both of my big toes tends to want to ingrow, and every couple weeks I kind of have to dig it out in a difficult manner with standard clippers. The design of these greatly improves that process for me, and I'm grateful this product exists. Outside of that, these are sturdy and have a much better actuation than the traditional design. Unlike normal clippers, you don't flip the arm upside down on that swivel joint to operate. These have a fixed joint with a much cleaner and more powerful motion. They lock with a little slider that is easy to use. They are also longer than a standard pair, and are sturdier and easier to use. Highly recommend these if you have issues with ingrown nails, or just in general if you have any difficulty with standard clippers. These are superior in every way. Read more
These nail cutters have a curved [they call it slanted] blade. For typical toenails, the nail is supposed to be cut straight across, avoiding rounding the corners. The only way to cut nails straight with these clippers is to nibble away at the nail until it is straight. Using the clippers in the left hand is more awkward due to the curve/slant [I cut left side nails with my right hand and right side nails with my left]. The so called "anti-splashing" design is flawed. If your are cutting little pieces those pieces usually fling out of the side with the curve. Big pieces stay put, which is helpful. The lock is great for storage, because when the clippers are open they are large. One of the things I do not like is the amount of travel the handle needs to move to make the cut. With the clippers that have the handle spin around to the open position the handle doesn't need to move very far for the clippers to clip. These clippers need to have the handle close all the way to the locking position, and, for someone like me with hand and wrist issues, this is not optimal. The blades did go through the big toe toenails with ease. Luckily I don't have any ingrown nails so I cannot give an opinion of that feature. I understand the nature of the curved blade and it's purpose, and if I did have an ingrown I would not hesitate to use these clippers to manage it. The file is very aggressive which I like a lot. Most emery boards are not this rough. However, the metal is very thin and bends easily. What this clipper needs is some sort of carrier. Not a single pocket pouch though, as the file will scratch the clippers. Read more
These slanted nail clippers are seriously sharp and give you a lot of cutting power thanks to the long handles. The slanted blade design makes it easy to trim ingrown nails and get into tight corners. The built-in catcher really works to keep clippings from flying everywhere, and the lock keeps them closed for storage reducing their thickness. For the price, these are an easy to use, functional set of clippers, especially if you have thick or tough nails. The included file is a nice bonus, and they feel like they'll last. Definitely a step up from basic clippers. Read more
These are heavy duty nail clippers with a nice smooth finish. It is very sharp and has just the right amount of spring load. It works great for thick nails, specially when you are cutting your big toe nails. The handle is easy to grip. The angled cutter is good for cutting the sides of your toenails which are sometimes hard to get to. I like that it collects your nail clippings. The lock mechanism makes it safe while not in use. It also includes a metal nail file, but I usually prefer emery boards. Read more
