You can setup this switch via HomeKit to control the switch. You can even add it to home assistance server and is working fine for control since it is all local network no internet is required. You won’t get energy monitoring though. Read more

I am puzzled by the very poor responses from a couple of purchasers. I have 6 of these Insignia switches AND THEY WORK JUST AS WELL AS THE VERY MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE ONES. They connect easily to my Wi-Fi network and the Insignia App finds them and activates them WITHOUT PROBLEM. I have been using them for 3 or 4 months without ANY significant problems. Alexa also finds them and I am able to use Alexa commands to control them. Occasionally I get the "unable to contact server" message but I have had the same problem with almost every other brand of Wi-Fi switch. Waiting a few seconds and trying again usually fixes the problem. I have bought some of these switches on another popular site for as little as $4-5 each. Read more
