Worked as well as can be expected. Took on trip to Taiwan., 48 + hrs later medication still cool. Loved the strainer as while in Taiwan I also used the cooler to make fresh hot tea. Very pleased Read more
Stainless steel all around even the top which increases the cooling capacity. I did a test and kept everything cool for over 48 hours in typical ambient room temp of 75F. Also like the capacity for my insulin vials and my GLP1 pen. Also find the convenience of the top storage for the needles. Great all around package and cheaper than the other more expensive medical coolers. Lastly the silicone disk at the bottom helps keep things from shattering when you drop vials into the unit. It worked to keep my meds cool on a 15 hr flight Read more
Great idea, but not he best actual use. Prefer the ones with Zippers. Easier to put in and take out. Read more
This Insulin Cooler bootle came with many more accoutrements than I thought it would. It thoughtfully arrived with a neoprene cover, strap for carrying, a thermometer, silicone pad to place inside the bottle to prevent glass vials from breaking, and a diabetic indicator to attach to the bottle. I will say the directions that came with it are confusing- it seems that there is a "break in" period for the cooler tubes that require freezing, then placing in warm/hot water, but only for the first use. In any case, I will be working on this and testing it out before I travel, just to make sure the temperatures indicated are accurate. The majority of insulin cooler packs on the market at the moment are soft sided, and can only keep medications cool for 4-8 hours. That won't quite work when traveling internationally, or making connecting flights, so I was very interested to try this cooler bottle. I've heard good things about medication cooler bottles in general, but some of them cost an absolute arm and leg. This one rings in at a very affordable price, making it an easy purchase for anyone who needs to travel with refrigerated medications. I will say the opening to the bottle is on the small side, as is the diameter of the bottle overall, so depending on the medication you are transporting, this may not fit as many injectables as you think. Best to try packing it full ahead of time to see what it can accommodate for you and your medications. Overall, I'm very pleased with the quality of this purchase, as it feels much more solid and capable of cooling my meds than other travel pouches I have purchased. Read more
I use a long-acting insulin that's taken once a day, so I never thought I'd need something like this. However, during the last hurricane that came through, I stayed at a shelter and realized that I need a way to pack up my medications in case of an emergency. I think this is a great insulin cooler made of stainless steel with a neoprene sleeve and an adjustable, detachable shoulder strap. There are two cold gel packs, a medical alert key tag, and an ID card. There's also an old-fashioned type thermometer with mercury, although there is a protective sleeve on it. It's made of durable stainless steel with a thin steel carrying handle. There is also a stainless steel mesh basket inside, which I haven't been able to figure out what it's for. Maybe I could use it for a few pen needles. I think it works great with stainless steel that's double insulated and has a copper-plated liner. I checked after 48 hours, and it was 41°, although it was inside my home, which is around 72°. What I like most is that it's not big and obvious, and it holds 4 of my Lantus pens (even though the ad shows it should fit 5). Overall, it works great and is reasonably priced. Read more
I like this insulin cooler travel case. It comes with two ice packs, a thermometer, a carrying case, tags and instructions. The bottle stays cooler than my current insulin case which for me is a huge plus. The container/bottle is solid and holds up to travel...using a soft sided case made me a little nervous. Traveling from home to your destination is made less worrisome because the cooler stays cold for about 12 hours give or take...definitely long enough to get where you're going.... but make sure you have a way to freeze your ice packs for your return trip, something I think many of us forget. My husband only takes what he needs. I have a vile and syringes...might have to prepare mine beforehand, and only take what I need. Wish there was a way to solve that problem...not all hotels have a freezer in their fridges. Oh well, I look forward to traveling using this travel cooler bottle. Read more
