This isn't a bad entry into the interactive toy category because it has a more random path than the hard, bouncing balls. We have tile floors so those can kind of get out of control and very loud. This toy mostly rolls on its side and my dog liked chasing it at first, but once the novelty wore off he just wanted to chew the rope off. They included a spare rope, which was great until he immediately only wanted to chew that one off too. His favorite interactive toy is nicknamed his "buddy," and he knows where it gets charged and will ask us to get it down for him. It has two spinning ends, not just one, so it can change direction very suddenly, rotate, and do all sorts of crazy motions. It's also pretty good about getting unstuck if it winds up underneath furniture or in a corner. He chews the rope on it and I have to replace it too, but it takes him a lot longer to get them off than with this toy. Overall verdict: Stays in the toybox. She seems to love it and will just stare at it up on the coffee table until I turn it on. The motion/sound/vibration all combine to make this interesting to at least some dogs. It is entertaining to watch. The sound in the video is mostly the TV but you can get the idea. Couple of downsides. The rope is hard to tie on. It is kind of short and fat which made it a little difficult for me. Second thing is the battery life is somewhat short. Maybe a couple of hours. My dog typically tires of it before it runs out of battery so this isn't an issue for me. It is hard plastic so it makes a bit of noise on hard surfaces. But if it provides dog entertainment, and the dog can't destroy it, I'm in. My dog is certainly glad I ordered this. Read more

I've ordered a variety of these interactive dog toys. Each seem to have their positive features as well as draw backs. This pumpkin toy is the same way. The good: it is a durable hard plastic, so when I toss it for my girl to go after it doesn't break. The charge port is located inside the pumpkin and its easy to access by twisting the top half and bottom half apart. The button to control the sounds, movements, and colors is also inside. This will prevent the charge port and settings from beinf damaged from play/chewing. My dog has to be in the mood to engage with these toys, otherwise she just stares at them 😆 this does spin pretty fast, has several motions and sounds to keep the doggo engaged. However, these don't keep my dogs attention for long. The drawbacks, the charge does not last long at all. I would estimate around 3 hours max before it needs to recharge. The toy does turn off after some time of no engagement, however, it doesn't turn back on once it's off and I have to open the toy and turn it on again. The rope isn't already attached and the loop is small so it took a little bit to get it attached properly. The toy is great though it is noisy. The thing runs all over the floor, flopping around which is actually quite fun to just watch as a human. For my large breed dog this toy would be to small, the entire pumpkin part is roughly slightly bigger then a tennis ball. So if he wanted to seriously chew this toy it would be dead in quick order Im fairly certain. If you have a smaller breed or a lighter chewer i dont think you would have any issues with them chewing it up to the breaking point. The toy is quite heavy and seems to be of great quality, it has hit many things and gone down the wooden stairs without breaking. Battery life seems decent and the toy performs as expected. The downside for me personally is that my dog doesnt like the toy but that is always the risk with buying pet toys. Read more

Myself, and Archie the mini golden doodle absolutely love this toy for these reasons: it barks it lights up it vibrates it flips & flops AND it wore him out! The toy arrives with one orange rope that you intertwine through the hoop at the top & then twirl it back thru itself. The rope is just a tad bit short to do this “easily” especially if you have arthritic fingers like me, however my husband put it together perfectly ~ we found it easier to undo the knots at the ends of the rope-pull it thru the toy & intertwine & then tie the knots back in. I have some great videos of him playing with it I only wish I could’ve uploaded more for y’all to enjoy! It arrives with the charging cable, you simply twist open the pumpkin & charge it ~ the red light will stay lit until fully charged. When you’re ready to give it to your pet: *Make certain to tighten the two halves tightly as the instructions state, as we didn’t the first time Archie played with it & it worked itself loose. I’m so happy I got this for him as our older English cream retriever as you see in the video isn’t much of a playmate. This toy offers Archie the ability to have something to interact with & work off some energy. We love this purchase, I’ll buy it again for gifts as it’s a quality dog toy even when turned off!
