This review is specifically for the "iOttie Velox Qi2 Mini 15W Wireless Charger Car Mount" since some of the reviews seem to be for other iOttie products. This MagSafe charging mount works surprisingly well for my new Samsung S25 Ultra. It holds the phone securely and charges reasonably quickly. I almost downgraded my rating due to the charging cable not being hardwired to the 12V plug and not having an extra USB port for charging another device as did the last two purchased iOttie Qi phone mount/chargers. However, I realized that having the cable not hardwired to the 12V plug allowed me to use a higher wattage (90W) plug (which has two USB-C ports) that charges the phone significantly faster. I do wonder if the higher wattage 12V plug will cause damage to this iOttie charger/mount and/or even to my phone. I'm using this mount in a 2022 Porsche Cayenne to replace a non-MagSafe iOttie Qi charging phone cradle. I did not have to use the included adhesive disc since I had already installed one for my previous iOttie phone holders. This and other iOttie phone holders have worked very well on slightly curved dashboard tops as long as the adhesive discs are installed on the least curved portion of the surfaces. Read more

I liked it fine - it held my phone in place during my everyday commute and charged it. But in the end I returned it because (1) it was USB-C with a fixed cable, and (2) it didn't sit nicely in my car (Toyota Camry 2008). I actually purchased several MagSafe car chargers, some from iOttie, some from ESR, some from a few other brands. I wanted to compare them and find one that works for me. My phone (Google Pixel 9 Pro) charged slowly when running Google Maps and Spotify over Bluetooth, maybe a few percent an hour? But then again, none of the chargers I've looked at have charged it quickly, and mostly I just didn't want it to drain on the drive. It didn't charge any faster than the non-Qi2 version, either. Not noticeably, at least. Magnets were strong. Grip on the vents was strong. Major positive was the all-cardboard packaging. Really appreciated that. Major downside was the fixed cable. I just really don't like a fixed cable. I want that flexibility. Also, I have some USB-A car things, so I needed an adapter that has both, or use two adapters. This thing was great when my phone used a normal phone case. The magnets are quite strong with a thing case, and still relatively strong with a standard case. However, since I switched to a Quad Lock case, the charging function no longer works. The case is simply too thick for this to work effectively when it comes to charging. The QL case has it's own set of magnets in the case which amplified the grip strength to the magnetic connection which is great peace of mind. As long as you verify your case is not too thick, this is a great choice if vent mounts are the only effective option for you. Read more

This mount is nice for all MagSafe compatible devices like the iPhone 12 and 13 devices. It’s nice that it charges your device and holds it perfectly if you have a MagSafe compatible case like the oem clear case for the iPhone 13Pro. It was really easy to install and because of the magnet in the mount it holds your phone on your vents nicely and securely. Going over bumps and stuff on the road is no problem. My phone has never fell off of the mount. I can’t give this mount a 5 star rating because 1) it gets warm if you have had the device on the mount for a period longer than 30 minutes and 2) if you have the heat blowing your iPhone will eventually stop working because it gets too hot which is not good. Your iPhone will shut down if it’s too hot so you’ll have to be careful of how hot your phone gets because the heat created by the mount carry’s over to your phone even with a case on but I would imagine it’s fine during the summer time or unplug the mount periodically which to me defeats the purpose. There are other devices out there a little cheaper and works better I would hope. That’s why it’s a 4 star mount for me. If it didn’t get so hot then it would be a perfect mount for me because I bought two. One for me and one for my wife. Update: 2/26/2022 Dear iOttie, I’m sorry but I have to leave a negative review for your product because 1) it’s expensive and 2) it causes your phone to overheat to the point it gets really hot to the touch. I have owned every iPhone model ranging from the iPhone 4 to the 13Pro with the exception of the iPhone 10 and 12. After an hour long trip in 80 degree weather and the AC blowing in my car the charger made the phone extremely hot. To the extent I couldn’t hold on to the phone and the phone shut down. This was extremely dangerous because I was on a road trip and I didn’t know where I was going. It was with my iPhone 13Pro. I had to use my wife’s 13PM for the remainder of the trip. I am long pass the return period and I am stuck with this POC and I’m not happy about it. I am going to end up not plugging it in because the magnet is good and it holds the phone but it does not charge correctly. Read more
