Affordable sleep masks with some limitations
This teal sleep mask set comes as a 2-pack, which makes each one about $4—a decent value overall. The color matches the product description well, and it is a nice, pleasant shade of teal. The material feels soft enough against the skin, and the elastic band has a decent amount of stretch without being overly tight. However, there are some notable downsides to be aware of. The elastic band is not covered, which could be uncomfortable for some users, especially during longer wear. Additionally, because the uncovered elastic rubs directly against the plastic slide adjuster, it is already showing noticeable wear after only a few uses. Based on that, I do not expect the strap to hold up well over time, especially if used nightly or washed frequently. In terms of staying power, the mask has not consistently stayed on while I sleep. I have woken up with it under me each time I have tried sleeping with it on. While it might not work as a sleep-through-the-night option, I still see these being useful in other situations—like for meditation, yoga, short rest breaks, or even on flights when you just want to block out some light. In those cases, it feels like a low-risk option. If you misplace it while traveling, it is not a big loss. Personally, I plan to bring these on an upcoming trip. While I do not think they are durable enough for everyday sleep use, they seem suitable for occasional or light use while on the go. Read more
