Bottom line: These are nice socks that have potential, but are hampered by their uncomfortably short height. The fabric is a silky cotton, and they’re thin in just the way you want your socks to be, so you can slip your feet even into shoes you typically wear sockless and the ‘sock bulk’ doesn’t prevent that! The elastic at the sock top fits just right; it’s not tight on me, nor does the sock sink slowly down when worn. I’ve been finding the neutral colors to be very versatile. I initially put one control pair of socks to the side and added the rest in the laundry to compare shrinkage after running through a complete wash/dry cycle, and I didn’t notice any difference in the washed socks vs. the one fresh from the package. My main complaint is that the socks are just too short and not a comfortable height – to characterize them in their product title as ‘long scrunch’ socks is preposterous – if you pushed these down at all, they’d just be a skinny little ring around your ankle. They’re a bit too short to feel like true ‘normal sock’ height to me; when wearing, I always feel like they’re about to slide down because they height is already starting at what feels like too low a level for what my legs are accustomed to… and sitting down with any kind of cross leg action is going to expose your over-short socks to the gaze of anyone nearby. I have relatively small feet, too: I wear either a women’s 6 or 6.5, so it’s not like my big feet are taking up all the material. If these were an inch or two taller, I'd be ordering more! Read more
