Good for direct but not for indirect heat.

Richard CicconeOctober 9, 2025✓ Verified purchase

Used for Kamado Joe grilling: The palm side can handle the indirect plates and grilling plates up to 15 seconds at 600* BUT....Cannot handle the indirect heat on the backside of glives when reaching into the grill. There must be a glove that can do both but I havent found it yet. Ugh! Read more

Magic Gloves +10 Heat Resistance

davidMay 17, 2024✓ Verified purchase

I can pick up freshly cast metal ingots a few minutes after I take them out of the mold then drop them in the water where they instantly boil. Picked up some glowing Aluminum slag no problem. Not as good as blacksmith/welding gloves for radiant heat, but better than the same with direct heat. i.e. my welding gloves burn if I pick up an ingot, but the Heatworx have no problem, but i'll burn my hands if I reach into the furnace to scrape slag with the Heatworx whereas the welding gloves are good for a short time as long as I don't touch anything. But once the forge tools heat up the Heatworx do just fine when you can definitely feel the heat/burn through welding gloves. If you're working ON hot stuff you have to touch and hold (hot metal, pipes, lit charcoal) go with Heatworks If you're working IN hot stuff you have to work around and inside (fire, forge, and furnace) find some good leather. Good for some things

J. McLeodJuly 16, 2021✓ Verified purchase

I got these for splitting paving plantmix that requires a splitter heated to between 400°F and 600°F. While they work perfectly fine for gripping objects at 250-300° I found they weren’t very protective for they higher temperatures of the splitter. I’ll still use them for oven and hot plate work but I’m going to keep looking for something for hotter stuff. Read more

I don't like how stiff and slick the exterior material in the palm and fingers of the gloves. Heat resistance is very good though. Read more
