I wear these gloves for heat and hand protection when using a vacuum forming machine to make a plastic product that also happens to be available on Amazon. Ironic? You decide. (If you can't stand the suspense, search ASIN B07HXPMVRW.) As you can see from one of the photos, the oven thermostat is set for 400 degrees. That's the temperature we warm up the plastic to before it is vacuum formed. The steel clamp frame that holds the plastic is quite hot when it comes out of the oven. These gloves offer the perfect combination of dexterity and heat protection. And the leather in the palm and fingers assures that the forms do not get marked when touched while still hot. The previous pair of synthetic gloves I used would leave black melt marks on the white forms. The included Ironclad sticker makes the oven look cooler, too. Read more

I really like these gloves and they fit great, great value! Read more
These are heat resistant, and are useful for pipe sweating. They are also nice for holding things that would give you splinters. The hand pads are almost a patent leather, and as such, collect saw dust, dirt, and grime very easily when using these for lifting. I am wondering how to wash them now... I am typically a Medium hand size, but these appear to be a little small on me. The fingers fit well, but it requires a bit of effort to close the hand or make a fist. I would purchase these again, perhaps in a larger size. Read more
I have been using these gloves for light to mid duty welding for over a year now. I have yet to have a problem with them near flames but I'm sure the warning is there for a reason. Much like the picture posted my gloves have worn and look pretty rough except where needed most on the palm and fingers. I'm sure most gloves would wear fast when used out of their duty range though. I think the most important thing to consider is how comfortable and form fitting they are when doing precision metal work (they feel awesome). I plan on replacing with the same. On a side note, I found these looking for a animal friendly welding glove and I'm not disappointed. Read more
I bought these for work as I work with hot metal and Die casting, they lasted 2 nights. the fingers are split open down the sides, and they are lacerated, little cut swipes everywhere and the palms had split openings, so much for cut resistance. and as for heat rating yeah not very, I still burned my fingers, maybe if you were just going to get a hot spoon off a grill or something. a pair of jersey gloves with leather over them is better. so, if you work with hot metal don't waste your $40. The gloves themselves are nice if you wear medium order large instead. The thumb is really tight an uncomfortable. Heat, I touch cable that's around 150 degrees, still fill it pretty good through the gloves that are rated for 450 degrees. Read more
As suggested by a few other reviews, I ordered a size larger than what I normally where in leather and rubber gloves, and it paid off. The ironclad company website also has a sizing chart that is pretty accurate for how their gloves fit. That is, I normally were a large, on the size chart I'm and extra-large, I ordered and extra-large, and they fit great. I mainly got these for direct handling of objecs under 200°C, and they work quite well for that Read more
