Forget the tennis balls for healing your plantar fasciitis! I bought these for my personal use and it was $16.95. These balls are awesome since they have 3 levels of hardness. The yellow level is slightly harder than that of a tennis ball - and works much better - and is the lowest level of hardness. With the red (highest level) and orange (medium level) balls, you can easily sit at your desk and use these with small amounts of pressure to roll out your foot or leg pain - great for runners. Since the balls are hard, less leverage is needed to roll out the affected area. A tennis ball requires you to stand to get a similar effect but it still falls short because the tennis ball material is just not hard enough - in my opinion - to apply the needed pressure to heal the damaged muscles and tendons. My wife is a seasoned physical therapist and usually recommends tennis balls and they generally work and are cheap, but these j/fit balls definitely work my inflamed foot tendons much better with much less effort. We own a PT clinic and I just ordered a set for my wife to have on hand for her patients. Read more

Having exercised most of my life and taken advantage of my waning youth, as far as my ability to forgo stretching and warming up prior to exercising ; I am now feeling the affects of my past neglect. Now, with my aching joints and tight muscles, I have finally given in to stretching and muscle rolling, to help alleviate my ignorantly acquired pains. I purchased a muscle rolling tube, along with these J/Fit Balls, in hopes of relieving my aches and pains : after years of scorning the help they might provide me. Alas, what I have been missing out on all of these years. I use these products along with a stretching routine before exercising ; my pain now being diminished greatly, or all together gone. I specifically use the J/Fit Balls on my buttocks and upper back, as they seem to penetrate a lot deeper into the muscle than the roller can. Also, the three levels of firmness really do make a difference, to me, by allowing my to control the amount of pressure I can apply. I can tell you, with all honesty, that the balls and the roller, along with some stretching, have given me a new motivation and ability to continue on my life-long enthusiasm of fitness. Read more

These are really helpful to melt away knots, and way better than tennis balls. I wish they had a little more grip because sometimes they slide out from under you, but otherwise they're pretty great. Read more

I have used tennis balls for a long time and these are hands down the best thing ever!!!!!! The material they are made of is essential so that they can move along your clothing without pulling them or getting caught on them. I use these at work and always have one in my purse. They are just so simple and do the trick. I have horrible back issues and these are the best i have owned. Read more

Get the Lacrosse balls. These balls have a hard surface that slips when you try to use them against a wall as a back or shoulder massage. I tried these, really tried them, and just ended up cursing at them. I did not like how they performed. I bought lacrosse balls and they are much superior - the lacrosse balls are very grippy and don't slide at all. My dog doesn't like them either - just like me, he cant get a grip. Read more

love the yoga balls! I use them with my yoga practices, which I do almost every day from doyogawithme.com (most of the classes are free). The balls can be used to massage tight muscles, but I use them mainly on the feet because I don't have problems with muscles, back pain, etc. This was a very good price. I did not find many places I could buy these balls, and this was the best deal I found. Highly recommend them. Read more

These are very useful to rolling out knots before or after exercise, or just whenever you feel stiff. But tennis balls work just as well for me. Read more

These balls work well for certain aspects of MELTing And they are less expensive. However, I could not feel a huge variation between the levels of soft to hard ( not like the official MELT balls). also, it would have been nice if they were different sizes since you do want to sometimes use a smaller or larger ball depending on where you are using them on your body and it would make it easier to quickly pick up the one you want to you use, softer or more firm ( although once you know which color is which that is easy enough) Read more
