Perfect, what I needed. I needed something I could weld from as a mobile welder because every other generator is very loud, usually requires gas to start, and you cannot bring it inside a building if you need to weld inside. It's a bummer. But this one is quiet, and holds battery for a long time. Read more
Firmware updated, so far issues haven’t returned. Still waiting to connect directly, I can’t afford to have my cortical systems go down. I travel & a shirt down will be extremely detrimental. I’ll update the review if it states stable. Kept it charged for months. Connected 200 watts of load & have had non stop issues. Setup was UPS mode. Keeps tripping code 6 over load- impossible with a 200 watt load, no less than 6 times in a row. Had to bypass the unit. Then it started to throw a code 4 charge level to high, shut down again. It was set to charge only to 85% max, but kept charging to 100%. Support is slow, They upgraded The firmware, going to try using it. Very skeptical, I kept losing my internet to my house. I travel & its very annoying when the unit shuts down non stop. I lose my connect home security & cameras when internet goes down. It’s been frustrating!!! $3k for a battery I haven’t been able to use. I connected my system to a 500 watt Liebert UPS, it’s older but won’t let me down. A $200 unit out performs a $3k+ unit. Very disappointed. I should have tested the unit months ago. I would have returned it, if it was this buggy. I think I bought a defective unit, if this is not the norm!?!? Heard so many Good things, only reason I spent the $$$. Now very disappointed… Read more

The battery holds a charge well. A note that if the panels you purchase have an angled jack adapter then use it. I purchased two panel sets in April and apparently they were an older version and needed the angled adapter in order to charge. When I went camping for the first time with the Jackery setup and tried to charge nothing happened. This began several months of frustrating customer service issues until Ben, the service manager, figured it out during a phone call. I really appreciate his diligence in working out the charging problem. Read more

I bought this battery and a smart transfer switch to backup my house. The battery, when not in use, loses over 30% of its charge per day. This means if I don’t constantly recharge it, it will die and disconnect from the system after 3 days. 5kwh of battery storage disappearing over 3 days is a huge amount. By my math, I’d have to use (5kwh / 3) =1.667 kWh per day of grid electricity to keep the battery charged at 100%. That’s approximately the amount of power my refrigerator uses in a day. After corresponding with Jackery support for weeks, they’ve offered no solutions. UPDATE: Jackery support emailed and called me after I posted this and they provided some detailed information on how this system works. When it’s in UPS mode, meaning you have uninterrupted power in the event of a grid outage, the battery unit uses a constant 50 watts. That’s why my battery drains so quickly. Also learned that the charging/discharging schedule gets disrupted when you travel. If you open the app from a different timezone, the schedules automatically change to your local timezone. So your battery may not be charging and discharging at the times that you want. They noted a feature request to improve this. You can put it into a backup only mode and it won’t drain the battery until there’s a grid outage. BUT, there are three big drawbacks to this mode: 1) if the grid power goes out, it takes 5 seconds for the battery to come on, 2) you can’t use the scheduled charge/discharge plan which allows you to automatically switch to battery everyday during peak (expensive) hours. 3) you can only select this mode for a maximum of 7 days. I don't understand why. But you'd have to go back in and turn it on every 7 days. They noted a feature request to improve this. Bottom line: it doesn’t work as I expected, but they seem dedicated to supporting customers and improving their software. With a couple of software fixes, I think this will be a great system! I have owned 2 Jackery units for five years now. I own a Jackery 250, Jackery 1000. Both have been very reliable, I’ve had no issues with either unit in over 5 years! I recently purchased Solar Generator 5000. It’s very well built, it is very capable of providing power at each plug whether individual outlets or all at once. Be aware if you activate the Bluetooth and then the WiFi it will drain the unit slowly due to having the WiFi on even if you don’t use the unit. The instructions for the main battery unit is clear and informative. The software is VERY BASIC, it does allow access to all functions of the unit. It show’s inputs and outputs of everything. I have found it to be slow at updating the information…I have read some review that they have to log off the app then log back in for updated input/output numbers…for me it was just slow to keep update info, but it does if you wait a few minutes. I will come back in a few months to update the review as I will have put this unit through its paces… As far as customer service I’ve used the email option and have received reply’s promptly…The price and features are competitive with other companies. I can recommend. Read more
