The only jade roller you'll EVER need
Let me start by saying that I've been a skeptic of jade rollers since I started seeing them appear in the beauty community. I'm not a person to jump on trends, especially when it comes to skincare, since they tend to pass by quickly. However, I heard rave reviews about jade rollers and Gua Sha tools and stumbled upon the Matykos brand and am SO GLAD I DID. I try to be as socially conscious as possible when buying new products (I tend to do a lot of thrifting) so when I saw that they locally source jade and send certifications of its genuine nature with all of their products, I warmed up to them even more. A big pet peeve of mine with beauty products is that they can be made cheaply, especially with trending products--this is not the case with Matykos. Their jade roller is heavy, smooth, and doesn't squeak at all which is a common complaint I've heard from friends who have bought more poorly-made rollers. Apparently they spent a lot of time investing in this and have a specific patent to Matykos which I totally took for granted since I haven't tried other brands. It may sound like a little thing, but not having to deal with a screechy jade roller is one joyous celebration I can have when using this already great product. The actual experience of using it is nice too. It feels a little funny to just be rubbing your face with it but I swear that my cheekbones were popping, my skin had this healthy flush to it, and when I looked at before/after pictures of my face, it seemed like I had some face swelling that had gone down which I didn't even realize I was there. The gua sha tool is cool as well, much more for gentle scraping versus rolling, and as someone who has acne I was worried about it irritating my skin but it has no rough edges and made for a relaxing type of experience. I asked my partner to do the scraping actually and then did it to him as well and we both felt like we were getting a professional facial. Which I would never spend money on, and now I don't have to since I have these! (JK JK still go visit your local esthetician but use these in the meantime) Bottom line, I was not sure what I was going to think but here I am writing a rave review about the product.
