Like lots of people, I bought a chaise/sofa bed from a 'assemble-yourself' chain. The price was great, the look was great, the hidden storage was fantastic and it was comfortable as a sofa. But for sleeping, it was pretty hard and the space between the two sections always seemed to be in an uncomfortable location. At first, I purchased a foam 'topper' that was two inches and pretty soft. It was OK, but didn't solve the problem of the space making some sleep positions uncomfortable. This cot-sized mattress is perfect. I bought the 3-inch version and now get a great night's sleep. Its just an inch or so wider than the 'sofa configuration' which is great since I often sleep without extending the bed section from below. I'll buy a second one of these and use two when I extend the full bed. The spare one fits easily in the storage compartment. The cover and non-slip surface make this easy to use and should prevent the tears that I experienced with the uncovered 'topper' that I've now thrown in the trash. This has been a great solution! I purchased this to use over an air mattress in my minivan camper. What a difference it makes! The air mattress is fine on its own, but this elevated that sleeping area to a completely new level. My nephew tells me it is very comfortable to sleep on, I have it on a sofa chair. I agree with other reviewers that the roll up picture is very deceptive. Thus my 4 star review. The smallest we could roll up the cot size was 22" which is pretty big to store in the closet , I do appreciate the strap. Would like manufacturer to post video of how it can be folded smaller. I made this purchase to replace an air mattress that I was using on a cot. At first, I was skeptical because this mattress is not very thick. I assumed it wasn't going to be comfortable but for the price, I went ahead and took a chance on it. I sleep on my cot a great deal of time given my work schedule. This mattress is leaps and bounds better than the air mattress I was using on my cot. For me, it feels like a comfortable mattress on a bed.
