Very pretty from a distance, raises questions up close.
These fake books look beautiful from halfway across the room! The questions arise if the “pages” sides are visible, as they are flat and smooth white, not looking like realistic pages of a book. You can see a few seams where the facade is probably glued. The cover of the smallest book is bowed outwards, leaving a gap on the sides where the lid should close flush. I imagine not every set has that issue. The covers have a nice linen-type texture, and the lids close with a small magnetic pull. I’ve taken pictures of all three of the books open and holding the same Roku remote- it fits in the large and medium books fine, the small one is very thin and does not fit the remote. The lids also do not extend past a 90 degree angle when opened. I imagine you could force it, but I’m not sure how it might break if you tried to open it past the 90 degrees. Overall still a lovely set of faux books, very pretty. Read more
