Works great so far. Our dogs ar 56 to 65 lbs. I would not trust it to hold after a while though plastic/ vinyl covering the cable can crack over time and rust n break the cable at the connectors. We shall see how it survives the winter use. We keep it tied to a tree. Read more

I have a crazy husky that can't be off leash in my fenced yard because she's an escape artist. I've been using this cable for a long time and she has really torture tested it, wrapping it around porch beams, iron pieces, wood piles etc. The red vinyl protective layer deteriorates but the cable itself does not fray or break. I liked it so much, I bought a second one in case my first one ever does break somehow, but I have a feeling that's going to be ages. Read more
Nice long cable. It works well as a cable but the springs are stiff and do not work in the winter. If your dog takes off they will get a sharp jolt when they hit the end still. It is made well and has held up for months of horrible winter. It is good for the money value but it wont train anything. Also do not use if you have trees near it as they will get stuck around the tree and you will have to go outside anyway. Read more

I was originally very upset and disappointed, I have just purchased this product 8 days ago according to my order/purchase history and I let my dog out and the spring broke after only 8 DAYS of purchase!! 8 DAYS!! Now I don’t know if the 8 Days includes the shipping time cause days run together for me, but the pics show how short of a time span I have had said product. Story time!!! Okay, So this is what happened. My dog is a German Shepherd mix, sweetheart of a dog, but if someone doesn’t know her, due to her size and her loud, deep, growling type of bark, some people get scared, which is totally understandable. Well, with this spring breaking, that means it gave Harley such freedom where she just ran like the wind and ran straight towards one of my neighbors who has a tinier dog. Simply put, It was NOT the best experience in that moment. It literally scared the bejeezus out of my neighbor!! Not fun, not fun at all! Thankfully my neighbor knows me, so she will eventually forgive me. Also thankful that even though my pup may look and sound scary, she is such a sweetheart of a dog and she actually listened to me…after a bit of running around in circles. 😆 Now mind you, we’ve only had her 4 weeks so I’m actually learning along with her. But honestly, even with her being joyous and overly excited, unfortunately my neighbor was not feeling the same. However, back to the product, the length is great, the steel under the coating gives great strength, but do not fall for the gimmick of the spring, cheap crap! BROKEN after only 8 days!! 8 DAYS!! If the description says it can withstand 500 pounds of resistance, my 65 pound pup should have not been a challenge for this product. So buyer beware or be AWARE, if you have a dog that you know could cause harm to an individual, definitely do not buy this one…would hate for your experience to be worse than mine. Keeping said product however because with the spring broken, it was easily removed and was able to still be used as a normal leash. Due to it still serves its normal function without the added gimmick, I went ahead and gave it three stars. Read more
