This jewelry box is well made and is not flimsy. It has great spaces for organization. My daughter likes they have a place to put earrings through so you can see them easier and then compartments underneath. There is a second layer underneath the top one. The only design thing I would change is that that there is nothing to grasp to get out the top compartment to access the bottom compartment. Overall it works great and is perfect for my daughter. It looks nice, but every time I open it, I have to stop what I'm doing, because opening it is rather fidgety. You need to hold the clasp in, so - either do that with one hand, while opening the lid with the other hand and simultaneously trying to prevent the box from sliding around - or (and this is what works for me), use both thumbs to press in each side of the clasp and hold it (and the box) in place precariously, while using your index fingers to pry open the lid on each side. I'm also not fond of how fidgety it is to lift up the tray when I want to access the bottom of the box. There is no tab or anything to grab hold of, so you sort of have to root around whatever is in the tray to find a good spot to grip onto. This will suffice until I can find a better jewelry box that doesn't cost a fortune AND is attractive to look at. But I certainly do not recommend this one to anyone. Read more
