A great value!

PrimeProJanuary 8, 2026

These stylish reader glasses have worked out amazingly for working on my computer all day. And the fact you get 4 pairs makes them a great value. Especially when a pull out another pair because I can't find the last glasses that are sitting on my forehead!! I have a big head and these glasses are wider than the average pair which I very much appreciate. They are light weight and comfortable for all day wear and the blue blocking feature is worth it alone. I have been using them daily and they have proven to be durable and there are no scratches to be seen. Read more

DIOPTER IS OFF BY 0.25X (weaker)

FLYnVFROctober 26, 2025

When these JM brand reading glasses arrived, my initial impressions were very favorable. Indeed, the styling, the build quality, even the comfort level, all kept pace with my expectations. However, when I tried to focus in on my computer screen, the wave of optimism I was riding took a nosedive. Not only were objects blurry, but I could feel the telltale signs of eye muscle strain. In other words, the diopter rating appeared to be OFF. I have worn hundreds of readers over the years and always use 1.5x diopter. This allows me to read at an ergonomic arms length distance of ~26-inches, which is perfect for computer work. But the minute I put these JM readers on, I could tell the diopter was OFF. So what diopter are they? Well, I find that objects come into focus at a distance of ~32-inches (0.8-meter), and that translates to 1.25x diopter (i.e. the reciprocal of the focal length in meters). The difference between 1.5x and 1.25x might not seem like much, but it takes my normal ergonomic reading distance out of reach. NOTE: I tested all 4 pairs that I received, and each has a working focal length that's closer to 1.25x. Despite being labeled as 1.5x diopter. Fortunately, all is not lost. Because I should be able to use these weaker (i.e. lower optical power) diopter glasses for tasks that might actually benefit from a longer focal distance. Like when I’m working on my car or select DIY projects & hobbies. But for reading or detail desk work, I'm afraid they just won’t do. Save any concerns I may have over the diopter rating, I really like these glasses. They are stylish, well-made, comfortable, and fitted with crystal clear lenses. And the price is definitely affordable compared to other brands; currently only $15.19 with a coupon applied. Taken all together, a 4-star rating would seem to be appropriate. But I'm not so sure about a recommendation as "reading glasses" if the diopter rating doesn’t track (i.e. based on past and present experience with reading glasses from other brands). Here’s a more detailed summary of my experience with the product. ✅ ADVANTAGES ✅ ➜ The styling is attractive, yet apparel neutral. From casual to formal, these readers should complement just about any attire. ➜ The overall build quality is excellent. All the parts are in excellent condition, with no signs of wear or defects. Equally important, the assembly of the parts shows good precision. I could not find a single issue to flag. ➜ One of the most important features for me are the spring hinges. With each pair that I received, the spring hinges have good tension and resilience. With the temples open, I was able to pull them back about 20° before I felt resistance. The responsiveness of the spring action felt smooth. Overall, I’m pleased with the build and performance. ➜ The “one piece” nose pad is a simple contoured extension of the frame. Although these’s no silicone coating to soften the touch, the nose pad is remarkably comfortable. With no annoying pressure points. I also found that the nose pad held its position on the bridge of my nose quite well. Minimal, if any, slipping when I tilted my head down. ➜ The lenses are large, crystal clear, and free from any scratches or blemishes. Looking through the lens I see no edge effects or unusual distorted imaging. I appreciate the large dimensions. I can see a larger field of view without having to move my head. ➜ Overall, the glasses are comfortable to wear. They feel lightweight, with no pressure points at the nose bridge or at the back of the temples (behind the ears). ❗️LIMITATIONS❗️ ➜ The diopter rating of the lens appears to be weaker by a factor of 0.25x. In my case, the 1.5x rating has a working focal length that's closer to a 1.25x rating. ➜ I tried to confirm the blue-light blocking feature of the lens material using a few simple DIY tests (e.g. RGB color wheel test, blue sky tests, the yellow tint test, etc.), but virtually all were negative. With the only possible exception being the yellow tint test. However, the degree of yellow tint against a white background is very subtle. Much more so than certified blue light blocking readers that I have. So either the percentage of blue light that's being blocked is relatively minor, or the yellow tint is due to another feature, possibly the advertised anti-glare coating. Read more

Unisex readers; comfortable frames that stay put on my nose-no slipping

KalamazooDecember 21, 2025

These are comfortable, unisex readers. The spring-arms make me feel a wee bit safer knowing that I sometimes fall asleep with these on. They also seem to help the glasses stay put on my face where they belong. These actually stay on my nose better than my prescription pair. The lenses have a bit of a yellowed appearance to them from certain angles when not on my face, which I haven't seen being so noticeable with some other readers I have. Looking through them, I don't detect a yellow tint altering my vision. These seem to be clear lenses with magnification that brings reading into focus. I'm thinking this yellow hue I see on when not wearing the glasses may be part of the blue-light blocking that these have, cutting a bit of harshness. I received 4 colors of frames, all of which I am quite pleased with: black, navy, grey, and tawny tortoise. The grey are probably my favorite, as they have a softer look on my aging face. At the current price of 15.19, these are absolutely reasonably priced--each pair is around $4, which is certainly a better deal than drug-store readers. So far, with the spring-hinges in the arms, these feel like they'll be pretty durable glasses. Time will tell. Read more

Unexpectedly Impressed—A Standout Set of Readers

K LassadieOctober 27, 2025

I’ve been using reading glasses for over 15 years, gradually moving from 1.0 to 2.75+ magnification. Like many who rely on readers daily, I’ve become something of a connoisseur. Typically, when I buy a new pair, it’s a practical transaction—no emotional reaction involved. That changed when I received the JM Reading Glasses for Men with Blue Light Protection. The quality is, hands down, the best I’ve ever experienced in a set of readers. The frames are thick with smooth, well-finished edges. The spring hinges work in tandem to maintain balance, and when laid flat—bridge down, arms up—the design keeps the lenses elevated, preventing scratches. The fit is snug without being tight. They stay in place and don’t slowly slide forward, which is a common issue with other pairs I’ve tried. Each set comes with a nicely made pouch, though I do wish there was one pouch per pair for convenience. As for the blue light protection—while opinions vary on its impact on retinal health, I personally see it as a benefit. Anything that reduces eye strain during long hours at the computer is a win in my book. These glasses are well worth considering. They combine style, function, and thoughtful design in a way that genuinely surprised me. Read more

Comfortable but not 1.75x

Customer ReviewOctober 25, 2025

These are very comfortable glasses and the frames are stylish. But, the strength isn’t quite 1.75x… more like 1.5x. I’ve been wearing inexpensive 1.75x readers for several years. When I put these on, I have to lean in to see clearly. There’s a noticeable difference (blurriness) between these and my current glasses so I won’t be wearing these at all. Read more
