This magnifying glass with light exceeded my expectations. The magnification is strong and crystal clear, making it incredibly easy to read small print, fine details, and labels without eye strain. The built-in LED light is bright and evenly distributed, which makes a huge difference when using it in low-light areas. It feels well-made and comfortable to hold, even during extended use. I really appreciate how lightweight yet sturdy it is. This has been extremely helpful for reading books, mail, instructions, and working on small detailed projects. Overall, this is a high-quality, reliable magnifying glass that does exactly what it promises. Great value for the price, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who needs extra clarity and illumination. Read more

Excellent magnifying glass! Has a light which can even be used as a flashlight! It is a bit heavy but it has to be, because the batteries are in it for the flashlight. EXCELLENT product! Read more

I guess with the improvements in printing technology, the manufacturers are putting smaller and smaller font type on bottles and cans (or maybe my near vision is getting worse lol). Bought this product so I can read the instructions on the labels. Works so well for me that I bought a second one. The LED lighting really helps. Read more

Very large magnifier with some heft to it. Lights are pretty bright, should be plenty bright enough. Came ready with 3 Energizer batteries, though one was leaking. No protection against the batteries being connected to the light, bummer. but it looked like my inner wrapping had been opened so i suspect i got a returned item. Unit seems to be nice, but the button is very easy to activate unintentionally so i'll have to find a way to protect against that in some small case or such. Would be nice if the switch required a bit more force or was protected/recessed. Read more

Cool doesn't even begin to describe this thing. It lights up brighter than most flashlights. The magnification is pretty good although I do wish that it had magnification options as well for even greater magnification! But it's still a five star neat little device! Read more

The JMH magnifying glass with light that I ordered came quickly, which I definitely appreciated! It came with three lighting options (3 AAA batteries required but not included). I personally purchased this item because of a book that I bought (study guide of the Bible) where the font was quite small. This item works perfectly for this study guide with the tiny font! Now that I have it, I will definitely be using this a lot. Instructions on food packages or medication packages will no longer be an issue! Read more

Pay attention to the written reviews here that talk about this magnifying glass being too heavy for people to use for any length of time, especially elderly people. This thing weighs 9 ounces without batteries! And the weight isn't balanced: the glass end is much heavier than the handle. I really can't understand some of the video reviews that go out of their way to say it's not heavy. I can almost guarantee you the first thought you will have when you pick it up (well, maybe not now, if you've read this review) is: "Man, this thing is heavy!" I have a couple of other quality magnifying glass with a diameter about the same, and they are very much lighter (although they're not lighted). Your second reaction likely will be: "Man, this thing is big!" It is 8 inches long and four inches wide. Think about it: This magnifying glass is about as big as a standard sheet of paper is wide. If you're buying this so your 80-year-old grandmother can read the newspaper, you should think twice. Also, what's with all the reviews saying they like the 30x magnification? That's saying that things viewed through the magnifying glass look 30 times bigger. Really? That silver dollar in the video really looks like it's 25 inches in diameter? The maximum magnification is about 3x. That's a big help in doing things like reading prescriptions on pill bottles or mint marks on collectible coins. But it's far from 30x, which is microscope-level magnification. That said, this is a big piece of glass with relatively good optical quality, and it definitely makes it easier to see small things when they are well-lighted. And this device is really bright, like don't make a mistake and turn it on while it's pointed towards you bright! (Your eye has better resolution and depth of field when the iris is constricted-down, just like a camera takes sharper pictures at f22 than at f2.8.) But both of those things can be achieved in a smaller, lighter package. I also agree with commenters who say the battery cover seems unnecessarily flimsy, although mine hasn't come open on its own yet. (By the way, I bought three of these, and none had batteries included, unlike some of the reviews here. But I didn't see anything in the product description itself that made me think I was going to get the required three AAA batteries with my purchase.) I would have given this two or two and a half stars (if the latter were an option), but gave it three stars because the brightness of the light and the option of two different light temperatures (yellowish vs. bluish) are better than any competing devices I've seen.
