I am loving vitamin C serums these days for brightening and moisturizing. I have what can be considered "mature" skin, and Joanna Vargas has become one of my all-time favorite skincare lines. This product is super nice for daytime use. The serum is very light and watery, smells fantastic. It absorbs instantly; it's kind of amazing how quickly it soaks in. Works well layered with other moisturizers but feels refreshing and hydrating on its own. It's really nice! Yet another winner from Joanna Vargas! Read more

Update: My esthetician noticed a change in my skin! She asked what I was doing and said the texture and tone in my face was amazing. This stuff works! This is a nice serum. I have noticed my skin looking brighter and more even. It's good. Probably one of the best I've tried. I love how on the package they note that you need to use it within 60 days. Vitamin C formulas are known for oxidizing and losing potency. It's nice for a company to actually acknowledge that. There are a few drawbacks though. First is the price. When I picked this up it was currently listed for $150 for 1oz. That's quite a lot. Also, the packaging is slick but not very functional. The top of the lid is supposed to take up the product in the glass tube inside, but the bottle is kind of top heavy and the neck is long and awkward. Makes for a clunky experience in trying to get the product out, which can waste the product and at that super high price point, I don't want to waste any! The serum is oil-based, which is different from a lot I've tried. It absorbs quickly and I haven't had any issues with any product I've used after it not absorbing into my skin, but I thought I'd note that. The serum also sort of smells like fabric softener, which is not really a smell I think of when I think of high end skin care. Overall, this stuff is really freaking nice. But the price, the functionality of the packaging and the scent would deter me from replacing it once it's gone. Read more

This is just okay for me, but it is a bit harsh. For me it isnt worth the high price point, especially when you can get other that have similar ingredients that are less expensive. I also am not sure about calling this a serum, when it is more of an oil. You may enjoy it more than I have, especially if your skin isn't overly sensitive. Read more

This was a super nice serum. It absorbs quickly (it feels like seconds) and doesn't bother my skin. It feels really silky when you put it on. It has a light scent that is sort of floral to me, but it's not very heavy or bothersome. If you can't take perfumes at all, you may not like it. I tend to prefer unscented, or it has to at least not be too noticeable. I would say the scent lingers for a couple of minutes. I'd say this is one of the better serums I've tried overall. Probably the best, as long as you don't mind the scent. Update: I've been using this in combination with a collagen cream for a while now. Usually, I have very dry skin. To the point that during the winter months, it'll start cracking painfully, like having tons of tiny papercuts pop up. I haven't had that problem at all so far this winter. Read more

If you tend to have a dry complexion, this might be the Vitamin C serum for you because it is less a serum and more of an oil. As I have aged, my skin has become drier so having a Vitamin C product that also moisturizes keeps my complexion looking bright and smooth. The hydration this serum provides makes my wrinkles less pronounced. This serum is thin, like an oil, so you have to be careful when dispensing because it is easy to spill. For being an oil, this serum absorbs well and doesn't leave my face looking greasy. The 2 things that prevent me from giving this serum 5 stars is 1.) the scent and 2.) the price. While the scent is not horrible, a little floral mixed with almost a baby powder scent, I am not a huge fan of scented facial products. I see in the ingredient list that this has added fragrance and just have to ask why??? Also, the price for this serum is steep. I find it hard to justify spending over $100 on a product when spending a third would give you similar results. All that being said, if you have money to burn and don't mind a scented facial product, this is a very nice serum especially if you tend to have a drier complexion. Read more

Lately I have more protective of my skin since I have to deal with excessive amounts of sun, daily. I am learning more about the benefits of Vitamin C on the skin and have sought it out to provide additional protection and find that this product is much more comfortable to use than others I have seen. This soaks in nicely and leaves my skin looking fresh and youthful, without leaving a skin tint or any stinging. This smells nice and not too strong. Read more

This serum is more like a face oil and I don’t love it! Something like this *should* either be spayed first or after an essence because it’s so light. But due to the consistency, it asks to be put on last, after lotion which makes me feel like the active ingredient won’t penetrate as it should. Really just not my favorite thing as it is so confusing to know when it goes in the routine. Also, the oil is just not great as a futile serum. So I’d only personally use it at night, if I used it at all. It’s just too confusing as a concept. I wouldn’t recommend this one honestly. Not a great value. Read more
