Blackheart—July 12, 2025
I’m a bikini wearer but (a) I’m getting older and (b) I’m tired of dealing with swimsuit pieces that don’t stay in place. I wanted a basic black suit that was going to be flattering and also very functional for exercise, and that would not show my entire butt cheeks because I’m tired of pulling my suit down while I’m at the pool. This fits the bill perfectly. The cut is attractive and doesn’t scream “swim meet” and the back coverage is fantastic without looking like a granny suit. I love the fixed back, because it’s strappy (looks cute, thinner tan lines) but I don’t have to constantly adjust it. The material is extremely durable and has very little give, especially compared to normie suits, so be aware. Going by the size chart, I should be between a 24 or a 26, but I ordered the 28 and it is very tight, as a competitive suit is expected to be. In particular, it feels like it might be a little short in the torso, although I’m 1.5 inches shorter than the loop measurement for the size 28. I expect the suit to stretch when wet/after some use, and it looks good, so I’m keeping it. For comparison, I also ordered the Roxy Standard Classic swimsuit in an XS (I’m usually a 000/00 XXS/XS in street clothes) and felt it was much less flattering, as well as too low in the chest. The only feature I liked better about the Roxy suit was that it has removable pads, while the Jolyn suit (like any other competitive suit) lacks pads of any kind. I am very small busted and don’t need support, so I don’t care. It’s so tight it smashes me completely flat, so if you care how the girls look at the pool that might matter, but I don’t and it also serves for modesty. This is a great suit if it’s what you’re looking for. Read more

I’ve had this swimsuit for about a few months now and it has held up very well! The color hasn’t faded at all and there’s not much sign of wear. I bought a size 28 and I’m 5’1 and 119lbs for reference and it fits a little tight but that’s how I usually order my swimsuits. Would highly recommend purchasing! Read more

JOLYN is definitely my go to brand for suits. I love the color variety and styles they offer. I swim everyday, so having a suit that I enjoy is important. Here is what to note if you are looking to buy one: The size chart on Amazon is not accurate. Go to SwimOutlet.com and view their JOLYN one-piece size chart, then choose your size accordingly, then pick the number here. These suits are VERY tight when you first get them, as that is what is best for competitive swimming/diving. Tight suits reduce drag in the water. If you can get it all the way on, and it is tight, then it fits you. You just need to stretch the suit out. Personally, I like this back the best compared to their other options because it does not dig in. If you want a looser, more relaxed casual swimsuit kind of wear, then size up ONE according to the SwimOutlet size chart. JOLYN does not pill as bad compared to my other suits on the bum/chest area. You can barely tell. My suits get plenty of time and use in and out of the water, so light pilling is normal and doesn’t necessarily mean it is a badly made suit as long as it isn’t all over the place. You’ll know what I mean once you buy the suit. TLDR; JOLYN is a swimsuit brand most likely made for competitive swimming/diving. The suit is tight, as that is what is best for those sports. Amazon size chart is not accurate, go to SwimOutlet.com and view their JOLYN one piece size chart. If you want a relaxed fit, size up by ONE according to that chart. Read more

I recently invested in the JOLYN Brandon Fixed Back Women’s Athletic One Piece Swimsuit, and it has proven to be a reliable and functional option for my competitive swimming needs. Here’s a detailed look at my experience with this suit: Performance and Fit: The JOLYN Brandon swimsuit delivers solid performance in the pool. The fixed back design ensures that the suit stays securely in place, allowing for a full range of motion during races and training. The fit is generally snug and supportive, which is crucial for competitive swimming. The suit helps streamline my movements, reducing drag and enhancing my performance in the water. Comfort and Design: Comfort-wise, the swimsuit feels great during wear. The fabric is smooth and stretchy, providing a good balance between compression and comfort. The design is sleek and stylish, with a classic cut that is both functional and flattering. The fixed back style offers excellent support and coverage, which is ideal for long practice sessions. Durability and Quality: The quality of the material is impressive. The suit is made from durable fabric that withstands chlorine exposure well, which is important for maintaining its shape and elasticity over time. I’ve had no issues with color fading or fabric deterioration, even after several swims. Drawback: One minor drawback is the sizing. While the suit fits well overall, the sizing can be a bit tricky to get just right. It runs slightly smaller than expected, so I had to carefully consult the size chart and consider sizing up for a better fit. Additionally, the fixed back, while secure, might feel slightly restrictive for those who prefer more flexibility in their swimwear. Overall Impression: Overall, the JOLYN Brandon Fixed Back One Piece Swimsuit is a great choice for competitive swimmers seeking a durable and performance-oriented suit. It offers good support, a sleek design, and holds up well against the rigors of frequent swimming. Despite the minor issue with sizing and fit, the benefits make it a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about their swim training or competition. Read more
