The mixed reviews for this brand made me nervous, so I wore the hell out of these shoes during the return window. No need to return ... at all. I own a collection of really well-built shoes — Allen Edmonds and Mephisto, to name a couple. I have a difficult time spending that kind of money on stitch lights. I own Johnston & Murphy as well as Cole Haan, both of which are fine, but way overrated (and overpriced). I've played around with much less expensive versions — with no major expectations — until this pair. I believe there is some fake leather on the uppers, but you can't tell. The support with these shoes is just as good as the $150 counterparts. The look gets compliments (not that I care). I've gone overboard with wearing these in an office and 8,000-steps-a-day periods, and the shoes have performed quite nicely. Are they Allen Edmonds? No. But they also aren't $400. Good looking shoes that will take you to a formal occasion or comfy-casual look, think dinner out with your significant other, get together, dinner cruise, cruise, etc. My husband will be initially wearing these at his granddaughters' upcoming Quincenare. They look even nicer in person. Fit good and feel good (he's been wearing them around the house a little). He wears a size 10 wide. There's enough room to comfortably wear a nice dress sock too. As for durability, we don't have them long enough. We recently purchased about a month ago. To be frank, my husband normally doesn't wear dressier or shall I say non athletic shoes too often lately. We are less formal now as and retired. But of course need a dress pair or two when going out or parties and functions. This one is a winner and seems like it would certainly last for awhile.
