My calves are 17” inches wide so I knew ordering these boots was a risk. I’m a size 9.5 but ordered a 10 so the calf part could be big enough. Luckily they fit my foot (with a thicker sock on) BUT it was so snug on my calves. If your calves are larger than mine, I don’t recommend ordering. With that said, the boots are gorgeous and came with no discoloration or rips. They’re so easy to walk in due to the heel size. The zipper is super strong considering it fought me the entire time on my calves. I will say that I’m 5’6 and the boots fell maybe an inch under my knees but I think it’s due to my calves taking up much of material/stretch. The listing showed that the shaft opening is only 14.5", however these fit loosely, with room enough for a snug fit on 17.5" calves. They look beautiful. I love the funky squared heel, and the PU black leather is very soft and similar looking to actual leather. The zipper zipped up very easily. They were a little snug around my foot, but I think that wearing them for awhile will break them in and widen them a little. The inside lining of the boot is soft and should help keep your legs warm in cooler weather. The small platform on the front helps makes the 3.74" heel a little less difficult to walk in. These are definitely a fashion boot and not built for comfort, but I think you could wear these for a few hours without hurting your feet much. If you have room to add a comfortable insole, that would make these even better. The squared heel adds a lot of stability and support, just not comfort or safety. If you're walking on slick floors (think high school hallways), these are somewhat loud as well as slippery. They do better on rough surfaces like asphalt because they lack traction on the sole of the shoe. I wish these had rubber lug soles with better traction. That would make them five stars. They are very nice looking for a fashion boot. With the shoes being made of faux leather, I expect them to last a couple years with moderate use before the outer PU layer starts to peel which is typical for this material. These quality boots are fire! I ordered a size 9 and they fit perfectly! I was a bit concerned that the calves might be to tight, but I didn't have any issues. In fact, I was able to put them over a pair of skinny jeans! The zipper was smooth and easy too. I love the chunky heel, I gave up on skinny heels a few years ago and all my high heels are the chunky kind now. The platform is nice too, I feel it balances out the height of the heel. I love square toes! My feet have a middle toe that is longer than the rest and I feel the square toe accommodates that better than the pointy shoes. These boots are super comfortable. I kind of wish the calves didn't go all the way up to the knee but that's definitely not a deal breaker! This boot is trendy and fashionable. These boots definitely make a statement! They've got that chunky block heel and platform sole, plus the square toe, which is really in right now. The faux leather looks pretty good, not too shiny or cheap-looking. My fiancée found they fit true to her usual size. The side zipper makes them easy enough to get on and off, and she said the calf fit was comfortable for her, not too tight or too loose. Now, they are platform boots with a decent heel, so they're not exactly sneakers, but she was surprised at how stable they feel to walk in. She probably wouldn't wear them for a full day of teaching, but for going out or a shorter event, she said they're totally comfortable enough and look amazing with dresses or jeans.
