I bought this unit to start a car that had been in storage for 2 years. The battery was dead and the tire inflation ranged from 10 to 17 psi (out of a specified 32 psi). The Joltekon quickly brought everything back to life. The 1.8L 4-cylinder engine started instantly (first crank), after applying the "Boost" button. I was particularly impressed by the air compressor, which took less than 5 minutes per tire to raise the pressure to 32 psi. It was very easy to use; the + and - buttons set the target inflation after attaching the hose, and a single press of the power button initiates the compressor; it shut off automatically once it reached the target pressure, and retained the target setting for future use. The instruction manual warns about possible over-heating of the air compressor (and advises a rest period if it does), but it didn't overheat during my use. I did notice that the air compressor appeared to use a significant amount of the battery's reserve. I wrote to customer service, who advised that I could expect the battery to last for approximately 40 minutes if ONLY the air compressor is used. Keeping the Joltken fully charged I have received the best results. I have been using the air compressor 5 days a week this winter due to the cold. It takes 3-5 minutes for desired results. The Joltken is light weight and easy to carry from my house to my car or even in my large purse. The Joltken pays for itself... No more overpriced air fills at the gas station. Used to inflate two 245/75R16 tires 10 ply rated. From 25 psi to 35 psi after off-roading with our camper. The battery was depleted after that. It was quick very convenient nice compact, easy to use. It was great being able to set to desired air pressure and have it shut down automatically. Be sure to have something to place it on out of the dirt and sand. We have since purchased another Joltekon and will be traveling with two. Have not used any of the other features yet. Read more
The unit came fully charged. It took about 15 minutes to inflate 4 tires from 31 PSI to 38 PSI. Very Impressive. However, it took 3 bars of power to complete the job. The recharging of the unit to full power took over 2 hours and 15 minutes, which is unacceptably slow. The unit seems to be well made, with attractive carrying case. The cable connected to the tires was very hot after inflation completed. Both the air cable and the recharging cable lengths could be longer to make the job easier. The different flashing modes are a plus. We have not tried the charging function as there is no need for it currently. Would have given a 5 Stars review had it not because of the re-charging time. Nevertheless, a very handy tool to have in the car for unpredictable incidences. Read more
Absolutely amazing product. I was able to start my car after using the boost option on it. I did have issues with overheating on it but it was a hot day so it more than likely was just that causing the problem. Definitely will get one for each of my cars.
