This ball was smaller than I expected, but it actually turned out to be the perfect size for my 8 week old Jack Russell puppy. It’s soft enough for him to chew without hurting his little teeth, but still has enough bounce and toughness that he hasn’t managed to ruin it yet. He loves chasing it around and carrying it in his mouth. The open design makes it easy for him to grab, tug, and roll around. It’s great for indoor play too since it’s lightweight and quiet when it hits the floor. It seems pretty durable for a small puppy like mine, but I don’t think it would last very long with an aggressive chewer. However, the holes are the perfect size for stashing shelled hazel nuts for birds (such as my Senegal parrot) and other small animals. The 4" are a good size for stashing unshelled peanuts. The 5" balls are good for stashing unshelled almonds (for my Amazon parrot). > I wash my Hol-ee balls in the dishwasher---albeit, my washer does not have a drying cycle---the dishes just dry by the heat used in the wash which saves a lot of electricity, and plastics dishes last much longer.. Smaller than I thought it would be but pretty sure it says the size in the description. Maybe a little bigger than a golf ball. So it didn't work for what I wanted to use it for. Not real sturdy my black lab got ahold of it and bit threw parts of it. It it was intended for my morkie who doesn't chew things up or tear them up like my black lab. Updated review- We stopped by Pet store today but it looks like all the JW balls now are thinner and softer materials so I guess just different batch issues. We would wait for the next batch that is harder and thicker materials. Totally agreed with the other reviews, those quality are not as good as the one that we got at the pet store, though they are the same brand and look identical. The thinner ( hence softer) material will be less durable and easier for my puppy to get the treats out. It used to last a day with the old one but now it only took him like 10 mins. However, I don't know if the company just changed the thickness of the products so I am getting different generation of the products? It would be great if the company can change back to the original thicker version because we and our puppy really like it. sad... Read more

This is the 5-6 inch ball. We got this one as well as the 2 inch ball for our puppy (golden retriever). She will get bigger, but loves playing with both already. This is currently her preferred fetch toy. What we love is we can play with it in the house. It is fun to kick or throw and we aren't concerned about it hurting anything since it collapses on impact. We don't go throwing/kicking it at our TV, but I have no concerns about it going at a window. This has been great during the winter with our puppy. Our puppy loves how it collapses, she can tackle it, chew it, squish it, swing it, anything, and it just springs back into shape for more fun. It is easy for our 4 year old to grab it and throw it for the puppy. We have never had an issue with it getting soggy from drool. The other benefit is the fact that you can put treats inside the ball. we have put tons of different treats and items inside to keep our puppy occupied and it does a great job for 10-15 minutes while she figures out how to get the items out. We have even gotten the 2 inch ball inside this one with treats inside it and created the one activity she can't figure out yet- but it keeps her going for a long time. The holes are at least as big as a quarter, but the larger ones are slightly bigger. Most dog treats fall out, but it is perfect for putting pig's ears in and just as a general dog toy. We have had this for several weeks, played with it consistently with our puppy, and there are very few signs of wear or tear. One joint on the edge of a hole looked like it had a tear the other day, but I think this is from us stretching it to try and get large toys or other items in- not from the puppy. Even if it breaks next week, we plan on getting another one as we have already gotten our money's worth. Read more
